It is quite possible that Feinstein was talking to Iran’s F.M. on behalf of the Mossad to discuss blackmail terms with him. The Mossad knows about every indiscretion of government leaders and is capable of blackmailing them into cooperating against their own governments.
In Iran it would be quite possible for an important government official to not only be arrested, but also executed for committing an unpardonable act, which the Mossad informer ( even Feinstein) would reveal to the right people.
