Chris Cuomo Apologizes After Being Accused of Mocking Pro-Gun Rape Survivor

Bongino: CNN host Chris Cuomo apologized yesterday after he received backlash for his tweet about NRA supporter and rape survivor, Kimberly Corban.

In an NRA ad, Corban explains how she was attacked as a college student and now owns a firearm to protect herself and her family.

“I’m a mother of two, and if a predator or anyone else tries to harm me or my family, they have to come through my firearm first,” she says in the video.

Cuomo reacted to the ad and tweeted “Only in America.”
This, as Fox News points out, created “an avalanche of criticism, many accusing him of ‘mocking a rape survivor.’ Corban herself responded to the tweet, asking him if he ‘cared to chat’ about it.”  more

  1. To his credit he did a decent apology.
My response elsewhere was that when he said ‘Only in America’ he meant ‘Thank God that I live in the only country in which the God-given right to self-defense is enshrined in its Constitution.’
Yeah, I’m pretty sure he meant that.

  2. The problem is that when every single tweet prior validates and lends credence to the smug condescending “Only in America”, his tail between the legs half hearted mea culpa wrings hollow. This guy has been a massive gun grabber of the worst order, for him to now parse his tweet with ,”But I meant keeping guns out of the hands of the wrong people”, just makes him look weak, un-principled and a liar.

  3. Here’s the horrible truth.. the only way to keep firearms out of the hands of maniacs is to fookin’ shoot them first…
