The city dwellers must be content with the representation because it’s seldom they make any effort to change it. It’s been the pattern for decades. There must be a sense of pride in it for them, they seem to encourage it.
I know it’s (prolly) a coincidence, but in the movie “Coogan’s Bluff” when Clint Eastwood (playing Coogan) gets to Lee J. Cobb’s (playing NYC Police Lt. McElroy) office the cops are discussing “De Blasio” a slick, connected New York City criminal.
Just saw it again a couple of weeks ago and when I busted out laughing my wife thought I had lost my mind.
