Rep. Rosa DeLauro Says No to a Pay Raise for Members of Congress

(CNSNews.com) – Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) says she is not among the Democrats who support a pay raise for members of Congress.

At the U.S. Capitol on June 11, CNSNews.com asked Rep. DeLauro: “At $174,000, members of Congress get paid a salary that is 370 percent of the median earnings of a full-time American worker. Do you deserve a raise?”

DeLauro responded: “I am not supporting an increase in a raise. What I have done over the last several years is, I have taken that money, and I do not take it, I put it toward a scholarship in my dad’s name, my mother and father, for the last 29 years.” more here

But then there’s this guy…

(CNSNews.com) — When it comes to giving members of Congress a pay raise, Rep. Jared Huffman (D-Calif.) did not say whether he would vote for a hike but stressed that people do not  enter government to get rich and that “a lot” of his “colleagues are struggling.”

At the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, CNSNews.com asked Rep. Huffmann, “At $174,000, members of Congress get paid a salary that is 370 percent of the median earnings of a full-time American worker. Do you think Congress deserves a pay raise?”  more

  1. Congress voting on its own pay raise; all workers would like that privilege.

With all the perks, expenses, high level benefits and other ways they shaft Americans, they should get no pay raise UNLESS voted upon by their constituents.

I seriously think they should have nothing better than how they vote for our military.

Hell, they do absolutely nothing that doesn’t benefit themselves. Even those bills they might pass are loaded with self-enrichment.

Further, the ethic breeches that we know of, (misusing campaign funds, funneling funds to their wives, without accountability, ‘misusing government travel for vacation ‘junkets’ to posh foreign resorts WITH their family, friends, and probably lobbiests, and on and on corruption perpetuated by our congressional robber barons), they should PAY America for their slack-ass ineptitude and corruption.

No pay raise without accountability. Audit each of them first.

Oh really? So how did Maxine Waters, Eliajh Cummings and Nancy Pelosi (for starters) become so filthy rich over the years? I personally don’t give a crap about his colleagues struggling. If they are its time to look for another job, nobody forced them into their position. If they are struggling in Congress, then they haven’t learned the art of grifting yet. Just contact the masters of the game the Obummers and the Clintons. Grifters second to none.

  3. I’m guessing that the only reason Jared Huffman D(ildo) is “struggling” is because he sucked as an Ambulance Chaser and had to settle for being an out-of-touch, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, incompetent, democRAT!

  4. Bin Blosson, the idiots in her district of my State would vote for her regardless of how she voted. She and her husband are millionaires MANY times over.

And where did you get a “normal” picture of her? She usually looks like Elton John in drag.

    What an unfortunate looking woman.

  5. Youd better listen to O-C, Rosa. Those paltry House salaries are forcing members into corruption. And O-C knows what’s she’s talking about. Her puny hourly bartending wage forced her to steal from the tip jar just to make ends meet. Nobody should have to live like that.

  6. “I don’t support a pay raise because I already know they have enough votes to pass it. Now I can posture as if I oppose it, all the while benefiting form it.” — DeLauro

  7. Maybe they ought to get the raise. If they are supporting two households (one in high-priced DC) and are not receiving assistance for that over and above their salary then I can see $174K having to be stretched mighty thin. DeLauro doesn’t give a crap because she’s worth $20 million and can afford to take a holier then thou stance.

  8. A majority of Congress members have been there for years and have gained amazing wealth beyond what they get paid. It is very profitable to be a bribed, lobbied, thieving, politician. Honest ones don’t stay in office very long, like Cynthia Mckinney. Peer pressure demands unethical conformity, or be kicked out.

Democrats and Republicans in DC Agree – Corruption is Good for Them

“Tired of hearing the Democrats and Republicans arguing about impeachment. There is something they do agree on. They both support stealing money from the taxpayers by the trillions.
Democrats and Republicans stand united in defense of covering up bribery and theft mounting into the trillions. According to Catherine Austin Fitts, our federal accounting standards (FASB 56) allows US federal agencies to run secret books. The implications are truly mind boggling.

What we are watching . . . is essentially a coup. We had a financial coup, and now we are watching a legal coup to consolidate that financial coup. ”

Screw Up: 8 Million Americans Are On The List To Be Disappeared

The U.S. has a Banker Occupied Government (BOG). BOG has put 8 million Americans on their Main Core list. These people are deemed to be the core of the resistance to Banker Occupied Tyranny. Wall Street mistakenly believes that if they can just get rid of these 8 million troublemakers, they can starve the other 300 million people living in country and a few billion overseas into submission.
