Texas Gov. Sends 1000 National Guard Troops to Border

Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered 1,000 National Guard Troops to the Mexican border Friday. The troops are tasked with supplemental staffing for new detention facilities being built by the Department of Homeland Security to free up Border Patrol agents.

“The crisis at our southern border is unlike anything we’ve witnessed before and has put an enormous strain on the existing resources we have in place,” Governor Abbott. “With the deployment of these troops, we are taking action to confront the crisis at the border and keep potentially dangerous criminals and illegal activity out of our communities.  said in a press conference in the Texas Capitol. “By working together with our federal partners, we will continue to pursue a strong and comprehensive strategy to secure our border.” read more

  1. Nothing good comes of making soldiers do police work. We should not have detention facilities on our southern border. There should be concertina wire and regularly spaced BMGs. alien invaders should be treated as invaders.

  2. Butt the dumocrats say there is no border problem and don’t want time or money wasted on a nothing burger. Maybe they need to get out of their Washington ivory tower and look around after they get done chasing their tails.

  3. It’s more important what they will do there than just being there.

Being nanny’s, nurses, and housekeepers would not be a good role to force these soldiers into.

But those are the roles I expect most of them to end up being placed in.

Maybe I’m wrong, we’ll soon see.

  4. What pure BULLSHIT!

If you put troops on the border give them live ammmo with orders to shoot to kill…then there would be no need to build these “detention centers”!
