Hong Kong Gangsters Attack Protesters as Tension Escalates

Epoch Times:

On the same night as former Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying criticized Hong Kong students for “lacking family discipline,” a mob of individuals with white T-shirt armed with sticks and metal bars attacked protesters at the Yuen Long train station. Forty-five people were injured including journalists and lawmakers. Yuen Long legislative council member Zachary Wong Wai-yin obtained information that these men were gangsters from Yuen Long and Tuen Mun. Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam avoided reporters’ questions about partnership between officials, police, and the mafia.

Right before the Yuen Long mob attacks, two million Hong Kongers marched again on July 21, asking for accountability in who gave the order for the police to use tear gas and rubber bullets on protestors on June 12—a first in Hong Kong since it was handed back to China—and who made the decision to label the June 12 protest as a “riot.”

Protesters asked for investigation and targeted Han Zheng, Politburo Standing Committee member and head of the Central Coordination Group for Hong Kong and Macao Affairs, and Zhang Xiaoming, director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, as both had openly supported the extradition bill which proposed that people could be extradited to mainland China for trial.

To Ka Lun, another legislative council member from Yuen Long, said that Yuen Long residents received the reply of “if you are scared, don’t go out” when they called the police. At times, the 999 police hotline was left unattended. The police were a no-show for five hours since the first resident call. Online video clips also showed police turning around and leaving a site where the white T-shirt men were beating residents. Hong Kong reporters are asking whether the police colluded with local gangsters.

  1. Now why on earth would organized criminal gangs attack anti-government protesters, coincidentally at the same time as the cops apparently were told to stand-down for 5 hours?

  2. It’s over for a self governed Hong Kong. They will eventually be taken over by the Chi-Coms, who are just trying to figure out how to dissappear maybe a million people (the resistance) in Hong Kong, if necessary, without it being too obvious. The whole world is watching, but soon that won’t matter to the Chi-Coms. They need to save face. Hong Kong is done.
