SEATTLE—A hacker gained access to personal information from more than 100 million Capital One credit applications, the bank said on Monday, July 29, as federal authorities arrested a suspect in the case.
Paige A. Thompson—who also goes by the handle “erratic”—was charged with a single count of computer fraud and abuse in U.S. District Court in Seattle. Thompson made an initial appearance in court and was ordered to remain in custody pending a detention hearing Thursday.

I’m no mathematician but she stole 140k SS numbers and was charged with ONE count of fraud. I guess this went thru the Govt accounting office.

Can’t wait till the Government fines them $50 billion dollars and keeps the loot. The Government has been wronged and should get its money. The cardholders will be happy when the Government gets its money.
If fraudsters, scam artists and filthy dirt bags (sorry din’t mean to include all Democrats in this) were very severely punished (very long prison terms even for one offense) then maybe some of the scams and scammers would go away!
