Video: 65-Year-Old Oklahoma Woman Gets Tased After Becoming Aggressive With Police Officer

KFI:

A routine traffic stop for a busted tail light ended up with an Oklahoma police officer using a taser on a 65-year-old woman. Debra Hamil was arrested and charged with felony assault on a police officer and one misdemeanor for resisting arrest after she attacked the cop following a brief chase.

The officer asked Hamil to sign an $80 ticket for having a broken tail light. She refused to sign the ticket and asked the officer why he couldn’t just give her a warning.

“I don’t think that I deserve to pay $80 for something that is fixable — and I can fix it if that’s all you want me to do,” she told him.

He explained that she told him earlier it had been out for six months and he wasn’t willing to give her a warning because she ignored the problem for so long. After she refused to cooperate, the officer told her she was under arrest. more

  1. “Hamil responded by stating that she is not under arrest, then she cursed him out, rolled up her window and drove away.” Drama, drama, drama, “She refused to go quietly and kicked him in the groin.”

Drive away after you have been told you are arrested is bad enough. Kick an officer in the Jimmy and things will get real quick enough. Going through life with the attitude that ‘laws are for other people to live’ only works if you are an elected Democrat or belong to the demographic group Democrats are targeting this election cycle.

  2. Long gone are the “peace” officers of long ago. They are now law enforcement writing tickets to fund the cities and towns.
The whole thing could and should have been dealt with much better if the officer had some sense of community.

  3. Off her meds and crazy. She stayed in a two ton
high speed weapon when the cop asked her to get
out of it and took off. Then she kicked him in
the family jewels. Yeah, I see a few months in
the slammer along with a psychiatric exam to see
if she has the mental capacity to be on the road.

  4. She admitted it had been out for six months. That deserves a warning?

Try this instead: get it fixed, show it had been fixed, and many judges will probably dismiss it.

Also, take it to court. Request the officer be there. In most places, if the officer doesn’t show, then the case will probably be dismissed. How many officers will show up for a ticket for a burned out tail light?

There is a YouTube channel by Mike the Cop. He talks about when he will let people go without giving them a ticket. One of the things he says is does the person accept responsibility for their actions? If not, then they need a ticket to help them change their attitude. Having a burned out tail light for six months sure seems like a case where the person needs a little nudge in the form of a ticket.

  5. “Well, I tried to kick you ‘cause I’m a country girl”.

WTH? Well, why didn’t you say that in the first place? Country girls aren’t obliged to obey the laws like ‘eeryone else!

  6. Sorry one taillight out for 6 months is a safety hazard. Odds are other lights will follow then you are a road hazard. I agree though had she admitted fault or plead forgetfulness, she’d likely have received her warning.

Many years ago I got pulled over three times in a single 6 hour drive on a dark country road through 20 one-horse towns for a headlight out. The third cop lightheartedly joked after hearing my sad tale (full of yes sirs and no sirs) that he was giving me a ticket since I had already ignored two warnings. In most cases, you get what you give.

  7. if that had been my Mom he’d pulled over she’d have been driving a Mercedes sedan and had a full-size fridge tied to the roof with cheap, shitty twine. True Story!

oh yeah, she’d have called him an asshole too.

  8. After that blatant disregard for the law and no concern about harming others, she should have been shot. Doesn’t matter her age, unless she has dementia or is severely mentally ill, which is not likely the case.
She’s a typical toxic narcissist. Willing to be combative and lawless to prove everyone is wrong except her.

“There’s just gotta be be a David Allen Coe song in there somewhere”

    …well, there’s a Heywood Banks song, anyway…

“…Again they had to taser her
    First time wasn’t fazing her
Whatever she did, she did it twice
Who was that gal, why weren’t she nice?

    She still advanced, a-comin’ strong
    So they cranked the volts
    She soiled her thong

    Didn’t get the hint
Because then they had to taser her again ”

  10. Reminds me of the old redneck joke:
How can you tell if Grandma might be a Redneck?
If she doesn’t remove the cigarette from her mouth when she tells the State Trooper to “Kiss my ass!”… she might be a Redneck!
