DOI Secretary Appoints Champion of Giving Americans Access to Public Lands, Environmentalists Outraged

Department of Interior Secretary David Bernhardt announced this week that William Perry Pendley will be acting director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), a move ranchers and others in the west where the majority of federal land exists see as a positive development.

Environmentalists are critical of Pendley’s appointment because of his belief public lands should be accessible to Americans, including for recreational and ranching purposes as well as oil, gas and mineral production. more

    Making the numbers look like they don’t have that much land.

  2. Adding a million new aliens to the U.S. every year puts tremendous pressure on Public Lands, so certainly, “environmentalists” should be opposed to immigration, legal and illegal, right? RIGHT?

    The Sierra Club was on record as being against illegal immigration, for the reason that public lands and national parks were getting trashed. At least they were, until some group made them a gift of $25 million or so to get on board with the weak borders crowd. I don’t know the name of the group that gifted them, but it happened. It was a dirty deal done dirtily.
