Israeli law bars anyone advocating for BDS from entering Israel. But rather than respecting Israel’s right to govern itself, House Democrats have chosen instead of blow up the US-Israel relationship in retaliation over the alleged “mistreatment” of their new Democrat Leaders.
According to the Miami Herald, the Democrat House is “weighing action” against both the US Ambassador to Israel and the Israeli Ambassador to the US for the new Democrat Leaders being barred from visiting Israel.
Senior Democratic members of Congress are considering action against top emissaries of the Israeli government and the Trump administration for their roles in Israel’s decision to bar two House members from entering the country.
About a dozen lawmakers, including senior Jewish members, began discussions on Friday morning over ways to communicate a “deep lack of confidence and trust” in Israel’s ambassador to Washington, Ron Dermer, and the U.S. ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, according to two sources familiar with the discussions.
The group is weighing issuing a statement of no confidence in Dermer and opening an inspector general investigation into Friedman’s conduct, the sources said.

Perhaps the next revolution will occur sooner than I might have imagined.
Read the old testament. God, again and again, addresses Israel. A nation. He does not address the actions of individuals directly (a few prophets do and some angels, but God himself? Almost never.)
God blessed this nation at our founding because of our principle of individual liberty. We, collectively, have the major deciding power – the vote. If we, collectively as a nation, vote for corrupt people, God will remove his hand from us as He did with ancient Israel.
But God is, most notably, patient and forgiving. King after king became more and more corrupt, as noted in 1st and 2nd Kings. Yet God warned the people, and did nothing else. Eventually, deciding that Israel had become so corrupt that it could no longer govern itself, God sent the Israelites into captivity in Babylon.
To my eye, this change in the hearts of the people seems to have begun around 1965. A further lurch toward ungodliness in 1973 (with Roe v. Wade – see Exodus for the description of Pharaoh having Israelite babies tossed to the crocodiles [think our punishment will be much different?]), and again in the early 90’s. From there the descent has been continual and accelerating.
God eventually let the Israelites be completely dispersed. Why should we think our current position any different? Are we really changing any significant number of minds? Is the US really turning back toward God, no matter which political side wins? Should we really expect an unchanging God to act differently for us than he did with the Israelites?
But God did make a promise to Abraham. And he has kept it. And to see that promise through to the end will require that He intervene to save us all (the whole world) from ourselves. He has also explicitly promised that.
In summary, we get what we elect as a nation. But God has a plan for the world. So even as we mess up our own nation, and see the predictable results, hope is not lost. The United States of America may or may not be a player in the end times, but God has and will always reserve unto Himself a portion of the people of the world.
The only question that remains is, will I choose to be one of them by learning and doing what He expects of me. I’m trying. Just a teensy tiny problem with that bluster…Israel is a sovereign nation (a crazy concept the dems no longer recognize), with the capacity and duty to grant entry, or not, into their country.
It seems AIPAC needs to be reminded of this also.
