Looks worse than some European places I’ve lived.

Must be out side the US?
Certainly many are not up to code.

Don’t see a problem.

Not even in my worst nightmares. There are a few I’m sure my mother-in-law would love.

I feel a lot better now about how I built some parts of my house that didn’t function as well as the idea looked on paper before we built it. However, our kitchen lay out is good.
The only problem there is how it’s managed. My wife wants everything stuck inside a cabinet out of sight, she could give seminars on how to pack sardine cans. It looks nice, but not lived in.
I, otoh, want stuff left out where I can quickly find it and use it. Stuff lined up along the back of the counter top. I hate having to spend 5 minutes digging into the back of a cabinet to find the Italian seasoning, turmeric, roasted sesame seeds or a lid that fits the skillet I’m using. Followed by 20 minutes trying to get the stuff back into the cabinet. The fact that since retiring I do 95% of the cooking and plate washing hasn’t earned me an extra vote. Yes dear, whatever makes you happiest I will do. [but I retain the right to say, “but if I agreed with you, we’d both be wrong”]

Some people just don’t appreciate innovation!
Necessity is the Mother of Invention – and these mothers invented some pretty weird shit … to fulfill some necessity, I guess …
izlamo delenda est …

Some were super weirdly put together. Toilets in the kitchen? European prison cells?

That first picture with the toilet in the kitchen is in Europe (power outlet gives it away).
Where’s the bidet?
Just slide the dirty plates in the sink out of the way…

The first toilet is thoughtfully placed next to the morning coffee pot.

A toilet in the kitchen is a brilliant idea! In case your sink backs up you can still wash the dishes and power rinse them at the same time!

Reminds me of when we lived in Ireland.
And, actually, that toilet in the kitchen concept could come in handy, as preservatives are not so prevalent over there and food poisoning is pretty common.

I think I am seeing a few NJ guido designs.

When its not being used for its usual purpose, its a great place to drop in some ice and cool a bottle of champagne.
