Justice Democrats-Endorsed Candidate Wants to Disarm Police

WFB:

A congressional candidate, who is endorsed by the same progressive group that backed Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) and Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) in 2018, recently called to disarm police officers.

Jamaal Bowman, a New York City congressional candidate endorsed by Justice Democrats, has proposed taking guns from police officers in American cities.

“It’s time to disarm the police,” Jamaal Bowman wrote on Twitter before retweeting one user’s response that police in the United Kingdom “carry no guns” and thus have “killed no citizens.”

Bowman, a Bronx middle school principal, is challenging incumbent Rep. Eliot Engel (D., N.Y.) in New York’s 16th Congressional District. Just one-third of Justice Democrats-backed candidates won their primary in 2018. more here

  1. New York, might as well. NYPD spends most of their time during gun fights shooting each other or innocent by standers. It’s epidemic proportions. Very under reported. Why you ask. Poor training obviously. However New York City allows three weapons for LE to choose from. A G19 (pretty fing strange why not a G17), a SIG P226, and some Smith Wheel Gun. All of these weapons need to be set, are you ready for this? A TWELVE POUND TRIGGER PULL. The P226, a DA gun, can only be fired double action, at 12 pounds. Same with the Smith wheel gun. They’re also limited to 10 round mags. Who in the hell would want to be an NY cop?

  2. What say you disarm the south side of Chicongo first? As a conservative, I’m tired of leftist ideas where conservatives pay. Time for leftist lunacy where leftists pay. Dumb ass.

  3. Think it through, Jamaal Bowman. If you disarm the police, they won’t be able to confiscate everyone’s weapons for you when a Democrat becomes President.

And if you disarm the cops in cities like N.Y., Chicago and LA, etc., those cities will become instant war zones and die even faster on their own.

  4. Many departments are employing unarmed civilians in increasing numbers, to take calls that don’t require a sworn officer. Usually called “Community Service Officers” or the like, they respond to calls that are not likely to result in an arrest being made, but that doesn’t mean they are not in harm’s way.

Many departments are having trouble filling vacant positions now, start taking away firearms to make officers vulnerable and watch them leave for other pastures. Leaving cities grossly unprotected and with rising crime rates, committed by emboldened criminals.

Pretty simple cause and effect stuff, which means liberals won’t be able to figure it out.

  5. “…before retweeting one user’s response that police in the United Kingdom “carry no guns”…”
I bet British police officer Keith Palmer wished he had a gun:
“Masood, wearing black clothes and wielding a knife in each hand, got out of the car and ran around the corner into Parliament Square and through the open Carriage Gates where he got into a struggle with an unarmed police officer, PC Keith Palmer. Masood pushed PC Keith Palmer back against the barrier wall, making Palmer trip. While Palmer was lying against the wall, Masood fatally stabbed Palmer.”

  6. I HAPPEN TO AGREE

As more and more citizens lose their ability to arm and protect themselves, the government (the police) should also follow suit.

“But police are in danger of getting killed!”

    Yeah, that sucks doesn’t it

  7. ……Many departments are having trouble filling vacant positions……

Pretty sure that’s been the plan all along, ever since obama’s DOJ began instituting consent decrees overseeing local and state LE.

Gentle giant Mike Brown sure has had more effect on society dead than he would’ve were he still alive.
