Las Vegas, Nevada will now become a sanctuary city for criminal illegal aliens after the city’s police department announced they will no longer cooperate with federal immigration officials following pressure from open borders group the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo announced Wednesday that his police department will end their cooperation with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), known as the 287(g) agreement, whereby criminal illegal aliens are turned over to ICE agents for arrest and deportation.
Lombardo blamed a recent ruling by the Central District of California for the city’s new sanctuary status. In that ruling, a federal judge stated that states like Nevada without specific immigration statutes do not have the authority to hold illegal aliens in police custody for civil immigration violations.
“I am optimistic that this change will not hinder LVMPD’s ability to fight violent crime” Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said in a statement. “While the ruling can be seen as a setback, I am determined that through cooperation with our federal partners the goal of removing the worst of the worst can still be accomplished.”
Lombardo said the Las Vegas Metro Police Department would “continue to work with ICE” at a nearby detention center to remove violent criminal illegal aliens. read more

I’m surprised Lombardo is still a policeman. Are there no requirements for honesty in the law enforcement community? I’m thinking maybe someone made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.
Joe6, I’ve read thru this a few and not sure that Lombardo didn’t get this shoved up his ass. Not sure of the politics, and there are certainly lefty sheriffs out there.
Having said that, I would consider resigning with the statement that the NV Supreme Court, complicit with the ACLU, has now tied my hands and further hindered my ability to uphold the law and protect our citizens.

Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo was literally under threat from the FBI during the commando shooting raid done at the time of the concert in Las Vegas. During a press conference it could be seen that he was scared as the FBI agent was there behind him with “a gun pointed at his back” if he should even try to tell the truth about what happened.

It seems that Las Vegas is some kind of terrorist central hub here in the US. And likely federally protected at that.
It has been shown by an alt media person that the gunfire during the Las Vegas concert was actually coming from helicopters overhead. There was much info reported by witnesses that the media never reported and was certainly not officially reported. So much criminal action against Americans!
Where is the mafia when you need them to uphold the dignity they tried to create with LV? When you need them to uphold law and order?
