Kentucky Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Christian T-Shirt Shop, Rejects LGBT Claim

CNS: On Nov. 1, the Kentucky Supreme Court ruled in favor of Christian print-shop owner Blaine Adamson, who was sued for refusing to print “gay-pride” T-shirts for the Lexington Pride Festival.

According to the opinion of the court, written by Justice Laurance B. VanMeter, “[T]his matter must be dismissed because the Gay and Lesbian Services Organization (GLSO,) the original party to bring this action before the Lexington Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission, lacked statutory standing to assert a claim against Hands On Originals under the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government.”

The court ruled (6-0) that GLSO had no standing because under discrimination law in Kentucky, such claims can only be filed by individuals and not organizations. GLSO lost at the initial trial, the appeals court and now at the supreme court.  read more

  1. The problem is that the claim was rejected due to a lack of standing, not because it was a violation of first amendment rights. The LBGTQ mafia will find someone who will try to have a shirt made, the order will be declined, and then the lawsuit will start all over again.

  2. Something for those with the means to do so: who’s funding this LGBTWXYZ group? All of the lawyers’ fees for all those attempts aren’t cheap, even in Kentucky. Where’d the cash come from? Even if the lawyers did it pro bono, somebody’s compensating them – and I don’t mean with some booty.

  3. Either we can exercise our own religious conscience or we have no religious freedom at all.

This needed to be decided on a First Amendment basis.

The rights of one group end when they violate the rights of another group.

  4. Gird thy loins my finely feathered friendlies. The next year will be total war. The enemy is within the gates. This election cycle will need every one of us to participate, from the fittest to the feeble, to destroy this pestilence come next November 3rd.
