How in the world!?

  1. Saw the results of a collision where one car was up side down atop another with no other damage to either car. Couldn’t figure that out and damn sure won’t this one either.

  2. Reminds me of listening to the news in northern Wisconsin regarding snowmobile accidents. “An Illinois man died last night. His snow go was found 30 feet up a tree. It has not yet been determined if speed was a factor.”

  3. Chute fail…
Years ago I lived in a house with a large double-wide gravel driveway. The driveway apron had two large boulders on each side – they were about 2 1/2 high. At about 3AM some guy drifted left of center and onto the shoulder, hit the first rock perfectly and launched the car up and over the driveway, over the other rock and augered in about 10 feet on the other side of the driveway and buried the car into the base of a large pine tree which was unrooted and felled. The front end was buried in the dirt at the base of the tree and the inside was cluttered full of empty beer cans. No skid marks in front of the first rock and not a pebble out of place on the driveway. The asshole was just dazed and confused… and of course drunk as a skunk! Nobody heard anything until the house shook with the impact of car into the dirt and tree. Not sure how high he had to get to completely clear probably 25 feet, but it musta been impressive!

  4. The vehicle was in what appears to be a clockwise rotation; given the tire friction marks that are likely critical speed scuffs, the middle ordinate looks fairly short compared to the chord of the arc. I suspect a speed will be determined, and will be in excess of the critical speed of the curve.

Understand that photographs/videos are deceptive; that’s how it appears to me. YMMV.

  5. Maybe they lost control trying to avoid the turkeys crossing the road.

What are the odds that 2 completely unrelated stories are from the same small town in New Jersey and are back to back on IOTW? About the same as the Mets, Jets and Rangers all winning championships in the same year.
