Ben Carson Reveals the Key Moment When He Realized Trump Was A Good Man

Carson spoke about the time back in 2016, during a GOP debate, when he couldn’t hear his name called and therefore didn’t walk out on stage.

He stayed backstage while all the other candidates just breezed past him — but one person stayed with him. That was Donald Trump.

And Dr. Carson said that showed him the type of man he really was.

  1. …I love our President, but he’s not a good man…because there ARE none.

    Even Jesus would not accept that title.

    “16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

    17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.”
    -Matthew 19:16-17

    …that said, he’s pretty much the best of us, so pray for God to guide him, as the Bible instrucs us to…

    “1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

    2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

    3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

    4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
    -1 Timothy 2:1-4

    …funny, Democrats seem to miss that one when they pretend to be Christian, just like they miss Romans 1, and pretty much the REST of the Bible that they don’t like…

    God Bless and protect our President Trump.

  2. I don’t think it was particularly discourteous for the other candidates to walk past him since they heard their names called but this did reveal the politeness of Trump.

    I was for Carson way before I got on Trump’s wagon. Carson, the consummate gentleman, elevated the discussion, he brought a certain elegance and class to the table and kept his dignity when those around him lost theirs.

    We will never know what kind of President he would have made, but he always had my respect.

  3. @Supernightshade — Yes, certainly from the Word we know that none are good, but I think in worldly terms it’s alright to say if someone is good or not. I wouldn’t, for example, lump men like Trump and Carson in with, say, Schiff or Schumer, would you? There is of course a difference between trying to do good and not caring about doing bad, right?

  4. I don’t know SNS, seems to me a man or woman can be considered good without it having to be a favorable comparison to God. Would you then say that no man or woman is considered bad because only the devil is bad?

  5. I remember that and Cruz even just walked smuggly by.
    One thing most people don’t know about Trump, he is a Christian that has been devout and I’ve heard his pastor Paula White discuss at length his reasons for keeping his faith private but it was well known. She was on the set of the Apprentice holding prayer before shows. He feels it is very personal and her advice was not to talk about his relationship or beliefs knowing he wasn’t a bible scholar and suspecting candidates like Cruz that probably has the Bible memorized would be trying to throw out quotes to trip him up and challenge his faith. He is a good man. It makes what has happened to him since 2015 that much more appalling.

  6. …to @AA and @Joe6…

    …some do good, but good works proceed FROM Godliness, not bring us TO it. If you see anything good in another, that is not of himself, it’s of God.

    Not MY words, HIS.

    “5 Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.

    6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
    -Isaiah 64:5-6

    …some, like President Trump and Ben Carson, seem good because they are touched to some degree by the Lord. Others, like Schiff and Schumer, cannot do good because they have turned their backs on the Lord.

    But either way, it’s about the Lord.

    And yes, we should strive to be good, but to be good is to be like the Lord. As such, the only way we can reach “goodness”, is to reach for the Lord.

    …I believe our President is touched by Him, and does His bidding at times. And I thank President Trump for his obedience, but ALWAYS to God be the glory.

    I have said no more about myself here, either. If you ever see me say well, it’s God through me you see. If I curse (as I certainly do) or say ill, THAT’S me.

    That’s just the fact. Only God is good. Man is only made good, through Him.

    God Bless, SNS.

  8. @Supernightshade — Agree completely. That is why, as Christians, we must strive to obey every hour of every day, so that others may see God’s goodness. I appreciate that you take the situation back to terms of God and Him, alone. But there are avowed atheists who could also be described as “good, decent” people. But that’s for another discussion on another day.

    God bless you, too, friend.
