Cowardice and Capitulation: The Shocking Things Chick-fil-A Funds

BPR: There’s a lot of talk about Chick-fil-A. Most of it is generated by the #fakenews establishment that wants nothing more than to demonize an organization that, historically, has publicly professed its Christian faith that is inseparable from its business practices.

“[We are] based on biblical principles, asking God and pleading with God to give us wisdom on decisions we make about people and the programs and partnerships we have. And He has blessed us.”

Those were the words of Chick-fil-A’s CEO, Dan Cathy, to the Baptist Press back in 2012 as he confirmed his biblical belief that marriage is between one man and one woman.

Days later, a disgruntled activist violently took out his disagreement with Chick-fil-A by trying to kill as many people as possible inside of Family Research Council’s (FRC) D.C. headquarters. According to the FBI interrogation, Floyd Lee Corkins chose FRC as a target because “Southern Poverty Law [Center] lists anti-gay groups. I found them online.” So, Corkins stormed inside FRC’s building, armed with a backpack full of Chick-fil-A sandwiches and 50 rounds of ammunition to “kill as many as possible and smear the Chick-Fil-A sandwiches in victims’ faces, and kill the guard.”

His heinous attack was stopped by FRC’s security guard, Leo Johnson—a hero who was shot while stopping the terrorist attack. In 2012, Corkins was sentenced to prison for 25 years.

In 2017 Chick-fil-A donated money to the same corrupt SPLC that still outrageously lists FRC as a “hate group.”

The Chick-fil-A Foundation’s recent announcement about its future funding again reaffirmed its redirection and capitulation. It just so happens that the same three groups targeted for years by LGBT organizations as anti-LGBT “hate groups” just happened to be the same ones that would no longer be funded: The Salvation ArmyPaul Anderson Youth Home and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Chick-fil-A’s press release acknowledges that these groups were “characterized as anti-LGBT groups” but never dispels that. They give excuses, basically, as to why they had funded these three remarkable organizations but would no longer continue to do so.

For those defending Chick-fil-A and pretending we haven’t witnessed their progression of capitulation, the Salvation Army sees it for what it is, stating in a press release: “We’re saddened to learn that a corporate partner has felt it necessary to divert funding to other hunger, education and homelessness organizations.” The Salvation Army does all three on a massive scale. But they don’t espouse an LGBT ideology.

In explaining Chick-fil-A’s funding decisions, Rodney Bullard, VP of Corporate Responsibility and Executive Director of the Chick-fil-A Foundation said: “We don’t want our intent and our work to be encumbered by someone else’s politics or cultural war. If something gets in the way of our mission, that is something that we are mindful of and cognizant of.”

Has their mission drifted way to the Left? Out with organizations that do not espouse a pro-homosexuality ideology and in with those who do, like Covenant House. Don’t let the Catholic association fool you, though. Covenant House, a homeless shelter for youth, takes pride in its promotion of all things LGBTQ. They even marched in the New York “Gay Pride” parade to show their inclusivity cred. Guess the Salvation Army (which admittedly has an issue with partially supporting abortion in cases of rape, incest and “life and health” of the mother) should’ve flown some co-opted rainbow colors to keep their hundreds of thousands in funding. Whoops. Looks like Covenant is the new Salvation.

Chick-fil-A funds the deeply political YWCA, a radically pro-abortion and pro-LGBTQ organization that repeatedly partners with Planned Parenthood.

Chick-fil-A also funds the DC-based New Leaders Council that identifies as a “hub of progressive millennial thought leadership” which exists to “support one another along their individual path to a more progressive political and cultural landscape.” Keep reading

  1. I’m disappointed but is it really our business to run anyone we disagree with out if town. They earn the money unless I also contribute similar amounts should I take a stand?

    3
  2. I am reminded about the great Churchill quote,” An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.”

I read an article the other day, I think it was on PJ Media, by an author I usually agree with who’s premise was that because CFA espoused Christian values in the past, that it would be hypocritical now if we criticized them for this clear cave to the frothing mouthed insatiable mob. She could not be more wrong.

We, as consumers, decide where we want to spend our dollars. If we do not want to patronize stores with gender-fluid bathroom and dressing rooms (Target), or those that use sweatshop conditions in third world countries paying child laborers a few dollars a day (Nike), or even those virtue-signaling sporting goods stores that don’t like guns (Dicks), we get to decide. CFA once stood for Chrisitan values, they then decided to abandon those values and go hide under their bed.

    Can anyone imagine those meetings?

“It’s like, you know, like, damn! You know, like, I was WoW’ing, and like, there were like, you know, like, not enough LGBT)*& POCs in it, and like, you know, like, why’s the wizard gotta be and old white, you know, like cis dude? And shit?”

“The coffee pot is out of like, water, again!”

“We better like, you know, call Building Maintenance again. They are SOO lazy and shit.”

  4. @ Anonymous : The point isn’t to run C-F-A out if business, but to be informed as to where our money goes. C-F-A built its business in part by pretending to be a company that had “Christian values”. As for me, I choose not to feed the hand that bites me.

YOUR MISSION IS TO MAKE FUCKING CHICKEN SANDWICHES. GO. TO. HELL.

  6. I’ve e mailed Chikenshit Fillet, and have offered to solve their PR problems for a poultry 500K. LOL
(Just stop donating money ya dumb fucks. Pay the taxes on it. Or, send it all to St. Jude. Who could possibly bitch about that?)

  7. Since they have chosen to capitulate to the SJW’s I will choose not to patronize them anymore and I was looking forward to them opening their first restaurant in our area next year. It also makes me want to consider to want to donate to the Salvation Army more now.

    8
  8. So what happens now? Are people now going to patronize restaurants that already give money to these and worse causes? Punishing CFA by rewarding restaurants that do the same…what will that prove?

Either find one you absolutely know doesn’t donate to ANY causes, or stay home.

  9. CFA sinks into the mud of mediocrity. Perhaps it was an illusion all along, a marketing thing. They will stay in business most likely, but no more lines extending around the block to show support. Just another place to get a sandwich.

  10. According to Wiki S. Truett Cathy, founder died in 2014.
His son Dan Cathy is still alive.
Rodney Bullard joined CFA in 2011.

Go figure. This wasn’t done in the dark. S. Truett may have been unawares or incapacitated, but his lib son Dan apparently is ok with the “diversity and social justice” programs.

CFA touts Christian beliefs…..seems they want it both ways….in the name of the almighty dollar.

    10
  11. Instead of virtue signaling by giving money to every phony social justice crud with his paw out why don’t they just lower their food prices, keep their mouth shut, and better serve all strata of income?

  12. Sad, that CFA has succumbed to kissing the asses if their detractors. Very disappointed in their stance. However, if they choose to support these leftist, and Then deny they have alternative support while dumping the Salvation Army, then I will choose my fast food somewhere else. The left destroys anything they touch. If CFA goes down the pooper chute it won’t be BC of my doing …, but their own. If you lie down with dogs.., don’t be surprised if you get up with fleas. This is true with the stench from the left. There is no way to pick up that turd by the clean end.

  13. I was surprised and disappointed to learn of all this.

I guess their marketing department determined that the Christian values program had run its course and is now limiting global expansion, and so went with the latter?

The KFC Foundation apparently uses its charity to help with education and hardship issues of its employees… or does it…

Maybe we should be cracking down on corporate charities and foundations — their real purpose after all is to offset tax obligations.

  14. CFA will get less of my money, that is a sad fact. If I know of a restaurant that donates to groups I disagree with; I don’t go there. The way things are going we will have to stay home, and even then I will be ‘supporting’ groups detrimental to our culture since many or most of the product companies have gone to the dark side.

    4
  15. I’m going to bring to church counsel that we boycott the traitors. Then send a proposal to our very conservative church body with 4 million members to do the same. Get woke, go broke.

  16. If the service and the food quality remains okay, then CFA is just another business among many, many others that are now degenerate supportive. Just have to accept that it is no longer Christian committed, but actually anti-Christian. CFA is a better alternative to Popeye’s which seems to be vulnerable to violent customers and staff, especially in specific type urban areas.

Chick-Fil-A Donates to Extremist Southern Poverty Law Center
by PENNY STARR and EZRA DULIS27 Nov 2019
“FRC President Tony Perkins swiftly denounced the Chick-fil-A Foundation’s support of “one of the most extreme anti-Christian groups in America.”

“Not only has Chick-fil-A abandoned donations to Christian groups including the Salvation Army, it has donated to one of the most extreme anti-Christian groups in America,” Perkins said in a statement. “Anyone who opposes the SPLC, including many Protestants, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, and traditional conservatives, is slandered and slapped with the ‘extremist’ label or even worse, their ‘hate group’ designation.”

“It’s time for Christians to find a fast food alternative to Chick-fil-A,” he concluded.”

  17. I have been reminded that CFA has deliberately turned away from its Christian faith founding. Whereas other companies and businesses have not been founded on a Christian faith basis so they have never shown themselves to have Christian values. Therefore, CFA is accountable for its Christ denial stance and really should not be supported for this, by any offended personal conscience.
