House Democrats on Tuesday unveiled two articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump over his contacts with Ukraine: Abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
“Today, in the service to our duty to the Constitution and to our country, the House Judiciary Committee is introducing two articles of impeachment, charging the President of the United States of committing high crimes and misdemeanors,” Nadler said prior to announcing the articles of impeachment.
“It is an impeachable offense for a president to use the powers of his office to seek a personal benefit,” Nadler added.
The charges — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress — stem from second-hand allegations brought forth in a whistleblower complaint by a partisan CIA officer, who alleged President Trump attempted to pressure the leader of Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, in exchange for U.S. military aid. read more

The first charge is unfounded and a stretch, and the second charge could only happen if the first charge is allowed.

Forcing a compromise or horse trading on an issue with an opposing member of Congress is now an abuse of power and bribery by their standard.
So let them push ahead with this and see how it turns out.

The Senate’s trial should be 15 mins long: Dismiss the charges outright because the House process was not legitimate.
And do it the way they did their every roll call vote: stone-faced and partisan.

And we the people have two charges to lodge against the asswipes infecting the body of Congress: “Flagrant abuse of constitutional authority and obstruction of we the peoples business”.
And now I know why I am in contempt of Congress!
It’ll be interesting to see how many dems in the house go along with this strategy. The ones who want to stay in congress for another term will avoid voting yea on this travesty.
There is no such crime as obstruction of Congress. The Executive Branch of government is a co-equal branch. That’s why there is not a crime of obstruction of the Executive Branch or obstruction of the Judicial Branch. The Congress is not the premier branch of government that can lord over the others. It’s the concept of checks and balances and not a three tier system where one branch is above the others. The Democrats are out of control and must be reigned in by the system established by the Constitution.
Someone write a book or make a movie depicting our Founding Fathers showing up in this timeline to witness what has become of their hard work resulting in the Constitution.
I want to enjoy seeing them taking on the left (and RINOs) and whipping the snot out of each and every one of them. Execution for the ringleaders and jail for the rest.
Then they will tackle the corruption, bloated government and all the other unconstitutional regulations, alphabet organizations, the welfare state and the Fed.
Then, they will say, as they ride off into the sunset, “You have your Republic back. Try keeping it this time, or we will come back!”
