FOX: The Trump administration is establishing a new section within the Justice Department to deal with the process of removing citizenship from foreign-born individuals who fraudulently obtained citizenship by failing to disclose past convictions for serious crimes — including terrorism and war crimes.
The section, which will be within the DOJ’s Office of Immigration Litigation, will be dedicated to denaturalizing those who had failed to disclose they had been involved in criminal activity on their N-400 form for naturalization. I don’t get it. Isn’t there already a bold warning of some kind in immigration and naturalization paperwork that states these things as crimes and subject to prosecution/nullification of their application? Why a new, separate unit? Is the State Dept not doing it’s job? POTUS Trump talked about this frequently in his ’16 stump speeches — about how immigres and visa applicants were asked if they had committed any crimes or were tied to any terrorist orgs.
Besides which, the DoJ should not be allowed to add a single new person until the entire department is gone through with a fine toothed comb and saboteurs are identified and dealt with. I don’t trust the DoJ to apply the law equally and fairly. They’ll give a pass to fellow travelers, thus making them immune from future prosecution.
