Chicago Tribune: The polls are about to close in Illinois’ primary election after the coronavirus threatened turnout and threw parts of the day into turmoil. Get live results here.
Earlier on Tuesday, Chicago election officials blamed Gov. J.B. Pritzker for not postponing the election and Pritzker fired back after concerns about the coronavirus pandemic affecting voter turnout. Reports of polling places without the necessary equipment or poll workers were cropping up across Cook County.
The pandemic caused the Chicago Board of Elections to relocate at least 50 polling places that had been previously scheduled to take place at nursing homes. And Chicago broke a World War II-era record for vote-by-mail applications, with 118,000 voters requesting ballots to vote from home, the board of elections announced Sunday.
The primary elections will determine the major party nominees to appear on the ballot in November for various offices, including president, U.S. senator and U.S. representative, as well as judicial and statehouse candidates.

Pritzker was the asshole governor that complained to the White House that several hundred travelers returning from Europe had to wait in lines to receive a health screening.
Less than four days later he exposes many thousands of voters and poll workers in a way that can cause infections to EXPLODE all across the state.
Why did he do that? He’s a Democrat. He will personally benefit some way, some how.
