  3. When I was a kid, there was a traveling softball team in the midwest called (I believe) the King and His Court. They didn’t do this, but they were pretty amazing – the Globetrotters on a softball field. The king was a pitcher, and their entire team was four guys.

    They still won.

    remember the pro softball leagues? got old real quick when half the team would hit home runs … every inning

  7. Eddie Feigner, The King and His Court. Only saw them once. That guy was a regular Cy Young. He had guys swinging so wildly he could pretend to throw the ball, and the batter would still be swinging. It’s amazing how many games he would pitch in a year.

    Actually no he didn’t. He was in the batter’s for a left handed hitter, but facing as if he was hitting right handed. And then he swung backwards while still in the batter’s box.

    He did not step out of the batter’s box or over the plate, making the hit legal.

  9. Freeze it at the instant he makes ball contact. He was essentially batting left handed but facing away from the plate. That way he got 180 degrees more body swing energy by facing outward.
    Clever.

  11. @stirrin ~ disagree … check his back foot … it’s clearly in the catcher’s box, behind the plate when he makes contact … a definite no-no

    … & the pitcher definitely grooved it … a Derek Jeter hr 😝
