After standing down from launch on Wednesday May 27, SpaceX is now targeting Saturday, May 30 for Falcon 9’s launch of Crew Dragon’s second demonstration (Demo-2) mission from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

This test flight with NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley on board the Dragon spacecraft will return human spaceflight to the United States. The instantaneous launch window opens at 3:22 p.m. EDT, or 19:22 UTC, with a backup instantaneous launch opportunity available on Sunday, May 31 at 3:00 p.m. EDT, or 19:00 UTC.

Tune in here to watch the launch webcast. Coverage will begin about 4 hours before liftoff. Demo-2 is the final major test for SpaceX’s human spaceflight system to be certified by NASA for operational crew missions to and from the International Space Station. SpaceX is returning human spaceflight to the United States with one of the safest, most advanced systems ever built, and NASA’s Commercial Crew Program is a turning point for America’s future in space exploration that lays the groundwork for future missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

  1. Well you might as well watch you paid for it. Remember this is the guy that founded Tesla, the government welfare program for car manufacturers, opened a huge factory in China presumably to sell the Chinese electric cars but is more likely to transfer US tech to them and see it sold back to America in the form of cheaply made goods and is possibly overseeing SpaceX tech handed to the Chinese as well.

  3. Man was that exciting!

I haven’t felt that sort of exhilaration in decades.

Hey Obama. Your muzzlim outreach is dangling between my legs. Call to prayer, bitch.

“Well you might as well watch you paid for it.”

Are you under the impression we did not pay for it when NASA was running the program? Because we were.

  5. @Brad; of course I know we were paying for it but at least there was some satisfaction in knowing (unless Clinton stepped in like he did) that whatever technical information was gleaned remained in NASA and (and perhaps of far lessor import) the feds weren’t getting taken for a ride. I should note that being from the Great White North I wasn’t paying for any of it. It would be nice to see a cost/benefit analysis of the fed investment to determine whether SpaceX has delivered technology that has been worth the investments.

  6. Meanwhile back on Earth, I am very concerned about a MAGA rally at the White House tonight at 8.

It’s supposedly a gun free zone, but you know that antifa and a few hotheads will be there. Trump spoke positively about it….so guess what’ll happen?

This is likely to get ugly. I could write tomorrow’s headline today.

RACIST TRUMP SUPPORTERS ATTACK HELPLESS BLACK PROTESTERS

Just stay home. It’s not worth it.
    Rally on a different hill.

    This is a set up.

Anytime our Government buys a new fighter, tank, tricycle, what ever, they buy the designs and processes too. The DCMA tracks those designs like nobodies business. The DCMA is also responsible for space stuff. The DCMA works hand in hand with the DLA. (Defense Logistics Agency) Who eventually takes all those piece parts to the assemblies and assigns their own part numbers to them. FSC codes and then the part number. Eventually the DLA will put them up on their bid board for quote. Which is what I do for a living. Machine parts off of old drawing for anything from B52’s to F18’s. The B52 prints look like they were drawn on the side of a cave.
ITAR laws are monitored like nobodies business. Heavy encryption anytime anything is sent electronically. So the concern of Space X giving away that technology is probably unwarranted. However the Chinese hacking into a Government computer and retrieving the technology would not be anything new.

PS. Space X was in competition with Boeing ad a couple other companies. It takes a lot to beat Boeing at their game.

  8. Everything was so crisp and clean and happy and absolutely American. It was a pleasure to watch after the filth of the commie looters that’s been on TV nonstop.

  9. Did anyone JUST see one of the best speeches you will have ever heard, about American Exceptionalism = The Trump Doctrine, the post launch comments by the POTUS?!

It may have been the best speech I have heard live actually.

The ‘thanks speech’, to the peeps that worked on the project, thousands when said and done.

He laid out whats’ coming and left a few riddles as usual!

Could anyone tell he was nervous before??! He was fidgety, as I certainly was!

  10. ^^^ Just watched it…again. Had to go back and hear the beginning of President Trump’s speech about the violence and am damn glad we have a leader who will step in and do what needs to be done! Inspiring!

  11. I was out shopping when my son texted and said it’s going off and live Stream. I caught the second stage while driving home! So excited for our Country. Bringing back the space program was so important to all of us. Thank you POTUS and God Bless those Astronauts!!

Now the presidents speech was phenomenal. One of the best speeches I have ever heard a USA President give to the American people. Please say prayers everyday for the President and that the evil that surrounds our country is finally exposed and hopefully that will keep it away for a while. It will never be totally gone but we need leaders like President Trump going forward to protect us from the corrupted evil that will always be a part of our Government.

It truly was a GREAT day in history.

    God Bless us all!!

  12. …I notice that NBC couldn’t finish this celebration of American spirit and capitalist triumph without ending on a shot of rioters programmed to bring America down.

…couldn’t even finish ONE broadcast without flinging poo on the United States.

    …It’s just who they ARE…

…God Bless those astronauts and see them safely there and back.

    God Bless America.

  13. The only thing that could have made today better was the announcement that George Soros and his family have been killed.

There is still time. And one can hope.

  14. @Brad; your point is well taken however Boeing doesn’t have a factory in China creating a product that’s the keystone of their organization that doesn’t make money without government support which if cut off can bring the whole thing down. It may be difficult to transfer SpaceX tech to the Chinese but if Tesla is in deep enough trouble I’m sure they can figure out a to move money through the Chinese plant and that Musk could rationalize it.
Look, it’s great to see the US back in space after decades of what seems to aimless wandering and I hope that they can go to bigger and better things with SpaceX but I caution about having too many eggs in a basket controlled by a guy that, with the exception of PayPal has been existing almost solely off the government teat who’s pretty cozy with a government whose recent lies, prevarications and blame shifting hurled the world into a economic collapse that will take years to recover from.
