Poll: Over a third of voters know someone who supports Trump but won’t say so in public

Just The News: Some research has indicated that ‘stealth Trump voters’ may give a surprise advantage to the president.

Over a third of all registered voters in America know a friend or family member who privately supports President Donald Trump but who is reluctant to say so in public, according to a new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen.

A total of 36% of respondents said an acquaintance of theirs has kept quiet about his or her support for the president. An additional 25% were ‘not sure’ if they knew someone in that category. And 39%, meanwhile, said they had no friends or family who secretly support Trump.  read more

  1. “…And 39%, meanwhile, said they had no friends or family who secretly support Trump.”

…well, it they TOLD you, it wouldn’t be a secret, WOULD it?

…they probably just don’t want your sorry Democrat ass shrilling lies and talking points at them, so they just nod and smile when you talk about how wonderful Kamelcrotch is, but if you weren’t so self-absorbed you might notice the glazed eyes that occasionally focus and dart to the nearest exit during your screed…

  2. Somehow the polling places have my cell phone number. I also almost always screw with them. Most of the operators who make the calls seem to be very low IQ and easily confused. Often the questions do not offer the answer I would choose. Kind of like when did you stop beating your wife. They always tell you to pick the better answer. Not answering is not an option.

  3. The value of polls was demonstrated in the 2016 Presidential election.

Also, yard signs and bumper stickers will not persuade anyone to support your candidate if they do not already do so. They only invite vandalism from those who do not share your political views.

Best to express your opinions in the privacy of the polling booth.

  4. The other day, my son and I were driving home, and we got in a long line of traffic at a stop sign. The minivan in front of us was plastered with lefty bromides, including “BIDEN- HE’S NOT TRUMP”. We laughed as we read them all, inching forward to the stop sign. The minivan turned right, and a few seconds later so did we. For the next five miles, we followed this van, unintentionally, through several stop signs, left turns, right turns and two traffic circles, only getting near it as we waited to turn at the stops. Once or twice, a car got in between us, but then they would turn, and we’d be behind the minivan again.

The route we were both taking was a natural corridor for traffic, so we didn’t think anything of it, until the minivan signaled a left turn into our subdivision and we followed it in on our way home. The minivan suddenly shot off like a rocket, doing 45 in a 25 zone, and swerved left into a cul de sac about two hundred yards ahead of us. By the time we got there, the minivan was already headed back towards us, and it stopped short of the intersection as we passed by.

I have no doubt that the fool thought we were murderous Trumpsters tracking her down, because they behave that way and expect us to be like that, too. And I don’t do bumper stickers, but if I did, it would say: “I can’t say what I want, because my car will get keyed”

  5. Thirdtwin, do you remember the movie Duel, Steven Spielberg’s first made for TV movie from the early 70’s? It was on the other night and I found myself watching it. Good thing it wasn’t a crazy semi truck driver who had it in for you.

  6. geoff the aardvark, I remember that vividly. My parents were big fans of Dennis Weaver, and we used to watch that every time it came on in reruns. Always scary even when you knew how it ended.

  7. I had a Doc appointment today with the Chemo office for hydration and Vitamin D. Seems I’m short. Last night my youngest visited and handed me a Trump 2020 face mask. Quite honestly something I would not normally wear. Well I got to the appointment and discovered when I unloaded all my shit out of my truck at work this morning, post gym, I left my generic mask at work. So I attended wearing the Trump 2020 mask. Between leaving the parking lot and the elevator ride up to the Docs I had forgotten all about what mask I was wearing. The reception sees me and laughs and say wow, you’ve got some balls. What ever, didn’t register. So I get back there where they start poking needles into you and the young nurse says, “You may need to turn that mask inside out”. Bam, got it. My reply, “That’ll be the fucking day”. After all it was take your 1911 to work day. Now I’m kind of pissed. So out hops the receptionist. Leans over and says, “He’s my guy, I’m a Trump voter” and splits back to the office. Now the young nurse swings by and says basically the same thing. There’s three other women working there including an older Doctor Assistant. They all told me they were supporting Trump. The older Doc assistant was the only one that wasn’t shy about it. But within that office it’s still one big giant secret. Does the left actually have us this scared? Yes. Mainly because the media tells us what’s socially acceptable. How many more offices are just like this one?

  8. Thirdtwin: I once noticed someone behind me who followed me through my coincidently twisty route home. Just as I was getting paranoid they turned into the street before mine. Funny how that happens.
