  1. First of all, anybody that releases a song titled “Low Spark of High Heeled Boys” needs a Lobotomy. However I am amazed at how similar in nasal compaction Spencer Davis and Stevie Winwoof are. In other words that was surprisingly good. I don’t think I’d spend money on it though.

  2. @MJA – YOU hit a nerve. Stevie Winwood!? One of my absolute faves and the artwork at his home studio was fun to see in addition to the doggie cameos.

    Amazing how they can do these things so remotely, in sync, at the same time??

    @Claudia – I remember well when Arc of a Diver was released. Fantastic album.

    @Joe6pak – very funny!

    @Bad_Brad – this one is for YOU:

  3. um, I believe that Steve Winwood was in the Spencer Davis Group when they released this … he actually collaborated in writing this tune … & sang it in their recording

    he was also the guy dicking dating Linda Eastman when Paul McCartney came along … small world

  4. Steve Winwood- one of my late fathers favorites… (and I got to stop this habit of saying, ‘I can’t believe this guy outlived my dad!’ lol it’s sort of fucked to think that way.)

  5. @C – btw Stevie Winwood played ALL of the instruments on Arc of a Diver…it’s true.

    Did you take ‘that chance’? I did.

    Yeah and it WAS an interesting time in life as well…

    @Chuffed beyond words – your Dad had GREAT taste(s). I remember when you dad passed glad to see he is in your music memories. Always.

  6. I dont know how high “Keep on Running” goes in the Steve Windwood Pantheon. All I know is that I heard it once, and after that, every time I went running for the rest of my life — whether for training for football or in the military — it popped up in my head. Especially when I was getting gassed

    (Just-a keep on running ……)

  7. Callmelennie: that is a real ear worm, isn’t it. If I were a band I would like to play it but it would probably be very un-PC. It sounds like stalking to the max.

  8. @Lennie – “..;From Side I of “John Barleycorn Must Die” the brilliant double header of Glad/Freedom Rider…”

    Excellent track. Haven’t heard that since High School 45 years ago!

    Yes, I did. Worst thing I ever did. I said it was an interesting time in my life. Should have said stupid!

    Oh, well. I survived! 😉
