Diogenes’ Middle Finger: If I had to describe the single most disturbing thing about today’s totalitarian socialist leaning Democrat Party, I’d be hard-pressed because the number of possible choices is so large. But if I may, give an observation as a former resident (and also citizen) of a Social Democracy on a point that I don’t think most Americans fully understand. more

Excellent points in the essay, but I was expecting to read about the roots of the differences between European and American socialism: the vast difference between, say, Danish or Finnish socialism where the push is not to have gov’t own the means of production and BLM/Antifa’s version in which gov’t owns and runs business. They’ve already tried to own American business via regulations; something POTUS Trump has recognized for decades, and was his first order of business in the WH.
Another difference is, as the piece states, the attempt to use our laws and courts as a means of eradicating our Constitution, and ushering in something that bears no resemblence to America.
BLM/Antifa are exactly like Mao’s and Stalin’s Red Guards. Exactly.
The biggest difference I see between European socialists and our Democratic Party is that the dems genuinely hate their country. The Europeans are proud of their heritage, their culture, and their history. Sure there are some instances, like Nazism in Germany, where a country temporarily went off the rails, but cooler heads prevailed (so they rationalize), and a better nation ensued. Not so with the leftists, they believe our nation was founded by evil white men who either murdered, enslaved or colonized its way to prominence. The foundation of America is rotten because it is based on a lie. Our nation only flourished because it enslaved others. Fed by rapacious greed for wealth and land, our for fathers raped, stole, and plundered at the expense of others. The leftists have no pride in the country and no understanding of American exceptionalism. They are ashamed of what we stand for and what America has accomplished. The old is not worth saving, better to burn it all to the ground now and start over.
