  1. …gun doesn’t leave holster unless you intend to use it, or clean it.

    No exceptions.

…guess that he’s gonna have some EXTRA cleaning on HIS, what with the blood and all…

  2. Sticking a gun in the front of your pants (just guessing, but would be willing to put money on it) is idiocy. I don’t care if you have a CCW permit. Buy a holster and put it in a safer, and more convenient position. Then, learn to use it. Some of my friends know that I carry. Most don’t. I am not going to show it off until some idiot barges into wherever I happen to be (probably holding his gun sideways). You might put me down, but I am willing to bet my training helps me survive.
Too many movies. Kind of like holding a gun sideways.

  3. @m. – good point. I can hope that the idjits out there do Israeli Carry. I don’t. The safety on my gun isn’t based on an empty chamber. Might as well not even have a weapon.

    ““….gun doesn’t leave holster……”

    What holster?”

..exactly. He didn’t have one, so every time he shoved it in his pants, he was breaking the “doesn’t leave holster” rule.

…and if you’re carrying a Glock Condition 1, its not going to be forgiving…

““…and if you’re carrying a Glock Condition 1, its not going to be forgiving…”

    Do you even operate bro?”

…no, I am admittedly not heavily experienced with firearms and I’ve never had occasion to shoot people for a living, but what did I get wrong? My understanding is Condition 1 means a round is chambered, and since a Glock has no safety beyond a trigger safety, then pulling one from your pants without a holster so you likely stick your finger on the trigger while doing so is problematic at best.

    Is this not so?

…not sure what you mean by “operate”, I do not pretend to have more than a basic knowledge of firearms and have certainly never held myself out here to be an expert. If you can increase my knowledge on the subject, even at the expense of being condescending about it, I would be nothing but grateful…

  6. Operators are special forces guys. They “operate” in the field while everyone else is in a “support” role.

Basically Brad is asking about your mindset out in public. Not if you’re breaching doors and clearing corners at the hardware store with a laser sight.

  7. No worries SNS…you ask legitimate questions….Sadly, It’s just your turn in the barrel, narrated by someone who never was in the military, but digs the lingo….

“You need an external safety to be in condition number one which a Glock does not have.”

Thank you Brad, I thought it was just a chambered round, and that the trigger safety was equivalent for that classification.

I’m old, but I still like to learn.
