JustTheNews-The Navy on Monday commemorates the 20-year anniversary of when the USS Cole, a guided missile destroyer, was attacked by terrorists while the ship was at a refueling stop in Yemen. The devastating assault killed 17 American sailors and injured 37, and prompted a desperate, 96-hour fight by the crew to rescue shipmates and save the Cole.
The commemoration includes a moment of silence to coincide with the attack that occurred at 11:18 a.m. local time, on Oct. 12, 2000, in Aden Harbor.
“We will pause to remember those who were tragically lost, pay tribute to the heroic actions of the crew, and reflect on our responsibility to carry their proud legacy forward,” said Admiral Mike Gilday, Chief of Naval Operations, in a message to the fleet. read more

It seems like the attack on the USS Cole was only a few years ago, not 20 years ago.
A. Einstein completely missed how time passes faster with increased age in his theory of special relativity. I guess he got stuck thinking about velocity vs time. Oh wait, maybe he did, we tend to get slower the older we become, and at slower speeds time passes faster.
However, Professor Adrian Bejan has a different theory.
“He hypothesizes that, over time, the rate at which we process visual information slows down, and this is what makes time ‘speed up’ as we grow older.”

@Onginer – I agree. That’s the one big thing I hold against Israel. I don’t believe the attack was any mistaken ID of the ship, and from what I’ve read, it was also the original Benghazi, fighter aircraft were scrambled to defend USS Liberty and for an unexplained reason called back by our own command. They both need to do some ‘splaining.
