‘I’ve purchased my last book by Connelly’

American Thinker:
By Thomas Lifson

I am accustomed and indifferent to insults hurled at me and my president by Hollywood airheads.  Many of the Trump-haters are mediocre talents at best (Kathy Griffin, for example) or well past their prime (Rob Reiner, Robert De Niro).  There would be no need to boycott them because I wouldn’t pay any attention even without their nastiness.  Their Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is just background noise in the popular culture.

But the latest attack that I’ve become aware of stings.  I’ve been reading my way through the works of crime writer Michael Connelly and admire his insight and talent.  His novels featuring L.A. Police detective Harry Bosch have been turned into an excellent TV series on Amazon Prime (with Connelly credited as executive producer), and a few movies have featured other characters of his, notably Lincoln Lawyer Mickey Haller.  Connelly’s publicity states that he has sold over 60 million books.

Connelly writes about not just crime, but humanity, as all accomplished novelists do.  His understanding of the way large bureaucracies like the LAPD function is spot on, and he brings at least some emotional depth to his characters.  That’s why I was distressed to receive this email from Canadian reader Alana LaPerle: Read more

  1. Never read his stuff, or watched the show; I do have a Bosch jigsaw, though. I read a lot. Mass quantities. Try James Ellroy, Rex Stout, Lawrence Block, Richard Stark, or Ray Chandler. There’s lots of stuff to read besides these trendy authors like Connolly.

  2. That’s what happens when you let someone live rent free in your noggin for four years, soon to be four more. Too bad. I too liked the early Harry Bosch novels, but I haven’t sought out Connelly for a decade or more now.

  3. These liberal assholes actually think that their opinions matter are sadly mistaken. I also enjoyed the Harry Bosch novels. No more with the name connelly on the cover.

  4. I read books by Anne Perry, They are about crime and humanity. She is my favorite writer. Then would be J.D. Robb books also about crime and humanity. And then books written by M.C. Beaton. I like to read for relaxation since I don’t watch TV. I’ve seen that Connelly guy’s books at the library but it’s nothing I’d be interested in reading. Just finished reading Uprising by Diamond and Silk. That was an interesting book. Also Don’t give up, by President Trump. Screw that connelly jerk!

  5. Turning rat and running to the extremes where the Brownshirts are takes not guts, and in fact is a loser’s way out.

You can still have a lot of money and be a loser. Bill Gates, for example: despite his billions, he still needed Epstein to get laid. (We can only imagine what poor thing in Epstein’s ‘stable’ he fucked.)

Bill Gates, who said he had no relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, reportedly met with the disgraced financier multiple times, including a 2011 meeting with billionaire Eva Dubin and her teenage daughter:
