News Thud: A shooting at the Great Mall in Milpitas, California led to chaos with thousands emotionally distressed and sheltering in place.
A 22-year-old San Francisco man suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound was transported to the hospital.
Angelo Balma, who was at the mall with friends said “People were running forward. People were running back, and people were falling.”
One woman told KPIX5 “They just said active shooter and we just ran, and I just ran into the store because the Levi’s guy said just run in the back.”
Tiffany Shuler, who was shopping at the GAP said “the people who work at the store told everybody to run to the back of the store, so everyone was panicking, didn’t know what was going on.” more
Oddly, the guy who shot himself had the best day of all involved.
Milpitas is a pretty good distance from SF to go shopping. People that live in SF are not allowed to own guns. I guess this is why.
You get the same reaction when someone sneezes these days.
Helpless sheep taught purposefully by their own chosen masters to be that way. Can you imagine them in a magnitude eight earthquake?
If bad times come 90% of them will be dead in a few weeks

I love these feel-good holiday stories, especially when they take place in bustling, brightly decorated malls filled with gay and festive shoppers.

Comon man! I am sure that 70 years ago i could make it in less than 30 min on my ballon tire bike! Never tried it in the last 70 yerts but on Nimitz I think NON RUSH HR I could get to Bay Bridge ion 10 min.

I did some construction work on “The Great Mall” back in the early 90’s. It used to be a truck assembly plant for Ford, and shutdown in ’83 I think. Sat empty for almost a decade, and got converted to a monster mall…
And by monster… I mean the thing is huuuuge! If I remember correctly the roof alone is 4+ acres.

Any time I read about a shopping mall shooting I’m reminded of that horrific story about those 4 terrorists who attacked the mall in Nairobi, Kenya. They killed 67 people before the place they holed up burned and killed them, too.
I always check for an escape route when I’m in a store, restaurant, or — infrequently — a theater.

It’s 46 miles. Bumper to bumper. And San Fran ain’t given out carry permits. 21 years old. He was probably trying to shoot someone, he just has poor trigger finger control.
