Sen. Josh Hawley traded sharp words with Walmart’s corporate Twitter account on Wednesday over his contention of the 2020 election results, prompting the superstore giant to apologize to the Missouri Republican.
After announcing his intention to challenge President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral victory Wednesday, Walmart’s Twitter account responded, “Go ahead. Get your 2 hour debate. #soreloser,” in a since-deleted tweet. Hawley later shared a screenshot of the tweet, calling out Walmart for what he called “insulting condescension.”
“Now that you’ve insulted 75 million Americans, will you at least apologize for using slave labor?” Hawley wrote. “Or maybe you’d like to apologize for the pathetic wages you pay your workers as you drive mom and pop stores out of business.”
Walmart’s Twitter account later apologized to the senator and said its earlier tweet “was mistakenly posted by a member of our social media team.” more
SNIP: No way. No. Time to email and call Walmart HQ.
Be polite. Don’t get the cops called on you. lol.
Two Words: Human Resources. The poison that’s killing every corporation.
I just sent this throught their customer service “chat”:
I shop weekly at Walmart. As of today I will stop unless you perform a serious disciplinary action on the employee who sent the tweet about Josh Hawley on your official account yesterday, and publicly announce what the action was. It had to have been a serious violation of your public relations policies and should be disciplined as such. It was NOT an “accident”. I will not shop at Walmart until I see the announcement.
It’s the thought that counts Jethro…I guess.
They won’t do shit, the email that called the incident a mistake is as much as we’re going to get. They covered their ass and that’s that.
Jethro, I am going to do the same. I shop there every week for groceries but I am done until a full public apology is issued and the person or persons who tweeted that is fired.
The “mistakes” always go one way.
How fucking stupid can u be its not liberal elitists that are shopping at Walmart you can’t literally be this stupid can u?
Walmart, are you not a corporation? Don’t the people whom you employ enjoy the legal protection afforded through incorporation? As members of a corporation, aren’t your employees, while doing work on behalf of said corporation, considered by law to be a part of that corporation and not individuals?
It’s amazing how a corporation can be a corporation, unless and until it’s more beneficial not to be.
walmart, keep sucking gro-biden ****
There’s no other corporation that’s embraced China like Walmart has. Walmart should be truthful and hang a Chinese flag in front of their stores. Instead of shopping at Walmart just right a check for whatever you can afford and send to China. I can’t believe Americans are still shopping there.

Hey WALMART!
Pubicize a full apology, or you’re not getting another nickel
from me.
What W/M has done to small towns like the one I live is called the 80/20 Rule. 80% of most small town hardware, auto parts, furniture and clothing stores’ profits come from 20% of their goods. W/M specialized in selling that 20% for less. It’s one reason why Dollar Stores have popped up, they compete directly with W/M for that 20%.
Once a W/M comes into an area. it’s just a matter of time until most of these small businesses are gone. Where I live there are no hardware, paint or home decorating stores and 1 small furniture store. There are some coffee shops, a few restaurants, souvenir/artsy shops, couple odds & ends places and a number of vacant store fronts.
Across the state line where the W/M is located, that town has somewhat of a downtown, like 3 or 4 small businesses but I guess if you can save $5-10 every time you shop W/M instead of in a local business, most are going to do it.
I work p/t repairing appliances for a local hardware store, mostly just to get out and about. They have a complete paint selection, well stocked, can mix 100s of tints. Have never seen 1 gallon sold. The one small furniture store has a sign on it that says call me and I’ll come down.
Refusing to continue shopping there because they’re not publicly flogging an errant HR employee is pointless but if it makes you feel better, fine. For me it’s a last resort but yeah, I shop there.
And the W/M in s MO I hit when I go up there to swim has, by far, the best produce over any other of the local grocery stores. That matters to me. I’ll pay a little more for some things but won’t compromise on my food.

So what you’re saying is, they’ve won.
Some good news, more nations in the word have an unfavorable view of China;
https://www.pewresearch.org/global/2020/10/06/unfavorable-views-of-china-reach-historic-highs-in-many-countries/
I wish they disliked them for other reasons as well, like their liberty crushing polices, their revanchism, their IP larceny, and their deceit wrt adhering to treaties.
MMinAR
You buy FOOD at Walmart??? That’s disgusting. I’ve seen what happens to that “food” before it goes on the shelves.
I worked in produce in a W/M, rose to a department manager. I don’t know what you’ve seen but my department was spic and span clean. The produce was fresh and the men that handled & stocked it were professionals. Same with meat and diary.
Yes Brad, their business model won. I liked it much better when they were proud to sell American made goods. I thought your comment about displaying a Chinese flag was dead on the money. Do you know 2 of the largest freight moving ships in the world have one route, China to LA? They sail here loaded, return empty.
When Sam Walton died, his American made ethic went with him. But still, even selling American goods, they were destroying small towns across the country.

It won only if we keep financing them. Could you survive if Walmart did not exist?
You’re preaching to the choir about China’s biz model. I’m a manufacturer that use to make a ton of money in the Semi Conductor Capital Equipment market and I watched our politicians watch China destroy that market. And they did nothing to stop it. In fact, they encouraged it.
Back in the mid 80’s Frontline, of all media organizations, did a segment, something like The Out Sourcing of America, (Can’t be certain of the title) That described exactly what you wrote above. If you can track that down, it’s worth watching. It’ll make you sick.
You seem like a resourceful guy. Challenge yourself to avoid Walmart. Challenge your friends to do the same. And in a rural area that may not be totally possible, but any purchase you can avoid there helps.
As you probably know, we can thank Bill Clinton for this.

All I know is what I’ve seen in our local Walmart, but trust me, you couldn’t wash those veggies enough to want to put them in your mouth.
I guess I’ll just continue to not shop at that toilet.
Fuck Walmart
This isn’t Costco folks, this is “salt of the earth, rock-ribbed republican” Walmart. Let that sink in.
This is the CCP state controlled, privately owned business-government (aka Oligarchy) partnership. This is an integral part of the great reset.

“This isn’t Costco folks, this is “salt of the earth, rock-ribbed republican” Walmart. Let that sink in”
I love ya buddy, but English please. What’s that suppose to mean?
Like I said Brad, it’s a last resort but when W/M has closed down most viable alternatives, it’s next to impossible to avoid shopping there. When I lived in w Texas and CO, aside from when I went to work at one in Texas, I hardly ever was in a W/M in my life.
Same with Amazon. I despise Bezo’s politics but living in the boonies means things leaves me few choices to get items I use. Years ago, I thought Vita-Cost was a good alternative for buying supplements and vitamins and than they got woke. I think they made some BS comment about hate and Rush. Why these companies feel the need to do this is a mystery. Michael Jordan was excoriated years ago for saying Republicans buy sneakers too. That’s the left in a nutshell.
I guess if you want to isolate yourself you can avoid financing them. I quit buying Nike tennis gear, Gillette blades, don’t drink any Coca-Cola products, would love an iPhone but use an android, ignore countless Progressive Insurance come ons, I mean it goes on and on.
Since I went to Ireland years ago and got a chance to have Guinness on tap, once in a while I’ll buy a can of Guinness as a taste treat. Come to find out, the company that owns that brand has donated big bucks to BLM. You can’t stay on top of it man, it’s impossible.
There are lots of farmer’s markets here and come warm weather I’ll get as much of my food from them as possible. I bought a nice piece here too and plan on going back to growing some too. You’re right, removing yourself from them works.
Brad, the meaning is simple. You would expect this tweet from uber liberal Costco, but not ultra conservative Walmart.
The point being, just as there are no longer two parties (R & D) in Washington, there are no longer corporations who are supposedly politically aligned.
It’s a uni-party and an oligarchy – no political ideological affiliation – both acting in their own self interest. The political labels just define the constituents they both lie to in order to achieve and retain power (political and financial).
stirrin
OK, gotcha. And yes, I agree.
Brad

A random tip on phones. All the militia types I know, that a year ago I considered a little nuts, use Blackberry phones. They claim they are far superior for security.I dunno. I’ve got an I phone and it’s contributing to my neurosis.LOL
Hey, at least most ammo is made here. Now if we could just find some.

Costco’s liberal? How so? I’d be pissed if I had to stop shopping there.
It’s tough not remunerating “woke” companies. I bought Amazon stock many years ago and have been adding to it since. I knew the CEO was a tool, especially when he bought the Washington Post and turned into an arm for the DNC. Facebook, Apple, Goggle, I hate their business practices but they have been good investments.
Disney, Target, Nike, Gillette, no money for you.
Conversely, when they go after a company, like The Salvation Army, I double up on the donations. Woke corporations are relentless in burying the opposition.

“…Costco’s liberal? How so? I’d be pissed if I had to stop shopping there…”
That’s a joke, right?
“That’s a joke, right?”
Um, actually, no. I don’t remember reading about them diving head first into the WOKE pool. I looked at their website, which said this;
“As a company, we respect the choices our members make, so we do not take positions on social issues, we are not involved in partisan politics, and we do not contribute money to political candidates or issues.”
If you are aware of something different, please share.
@rich Taylor – “…Um, actually, no. I don’t remember reading about them diving head first into the WOKE pool…”
Between common sense (Costco is a Washington based company) and their dropping a popular pimento cheese product because the owner tweeted that BLM was a Marxist organization
https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/costco-palmetto-cheese-boycott/2020/09/22/id/988278/
and my own personal experience of being stalked and accosted by a Costco employee face mask Nazi, I would say, yeah, Costco is a liberal company.
@stirrin
“Brad, the meaning is simple. You would expect this tweet from uber liberal Costco, but not ultra conservative Walmart.”
Except that “conservative Walmart” plays wokism with the best of them;
https://thehill.com/changing-america/respect/equality/501396-walmart-ceo-pledges-100-million-to-address-systemic-racism
https://capitalresearch.org/article/the-walmart-foundation-a-microcosm-of-woke-capital/
It’s getting harder and harder to determine the good corporations from the bad.
Rich – “…Except that “conservative Walmart” plays wokism with the best of them…”
I suggest that you go back and actually read my comment to really understand my point. Walmart is not conservative, it is self-serving, including adopting wokeness, if necessary, if it thinks it will enhance it’s bottom line.
Wal Mart, like Bill Gates, needs to find its swim lane and get back there, pronto.
Wal Mart can sell cheap stuff better than any other store, so it can leave the politics to the citizens and do what it’s supposed to do.
