Amen. – IOTW Report

Amen.

We Must Pray with Increased Fervor for Our Poor Country. Let Us Call on the Mother of Mercy...
As we celebrate this Feast of the Epiphany when the wise men came seeking the King of Kings, our country is at a crossroads. The liars and cheaters, the enemies of Christ, seem to be in ascendence. The wolves are among us ravaging the flock. Let us pray for all those going to Washington, D.C. today with patriots’ hearts to defend the integrity of our election system.
All seems lost, but with God, all things are possible. Let us beg Mary’s intercession for the land we love and for our children and grandchildren who will face her collapse and live among the ruins.
Let us pray.

  1. I get that this is a catholic praying a catholic prayer. However no where in the Bible does it say that we are to ask Mary for anything. We are to pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

This prayer has no more validity than Rep. E(wo)manuel Cleaver’s flippant address to many gods. I would not be in his shoes for the world as he has mocked the almighty God.

  2. As I understand it, Pence won’t object because he’s not going by the rule congress made that is considered unconstitutional. He’s going by the Constitution which says the states themselves have to reject / recall the votes. It’s up to the states’ legislatures themselves, which are Republican. We should be setting fires to the states’ asses right now.

  3. “The Greek adjective katholikos, the origin of the term “catholic”, means “universal”.”

Catholic praying a catholic prayer, eh?

Catholics pray to the various saints as intercessors – not in the belief that the saints (in and of themselves) can alter God’s will. Most Catholics (I assume) understand that a prayer is a request – a submission – not a petition – and certainly not a demand.

But this is probably more anti-Romanish nit-picking than serious argument.

  4. Amen is a very unique word, and it is one of the perhaps very few words that is not translated when used in other languages.
There is no sufficient substitute for it.
    Amen
