In fact, the Detroit Lions running back may have hit rock bottom recently.
For a player who excels at going in the right direction on the field, Peterson has gone down the wrong direction off the field—at least from a financial standpoint. And on Wednesday, his frightening financial situation took a brutal $8.3 million turn that officially puts the future Hall of Famer in even hotter water with the legal system.
I stopped watchin, following or caring about the NFL decades ago. I’m better off for it.

Nope, it is a cultural thing. I had a friend who played semi-pro hockey in Alaska. He was friends with a Mariners player who hunted birds. Always said: you have to meet him.
OK, he picks me up and we drive up to Tiger Mountain, get there and the mansion had the electric security gate knocked off and laying in what was left of the landscaping. Huge house with a Ferrari parked out front. On the way in I walked past the car and it was a total piece of shit. A drink made with orange juice had been spilled in the seat and rotted the leather through and the foam seat bun was rotted away two inches deep.
And the fucking house. We walk in and there is red wine spilled all over the carpets. Ten big screen television sets with porn or sports on each. Strippers laying around in nothing but panties, or at best a pair of pajama bottoms. Dog shit and piss everywhere. Holes in the wall behind every door where the door knob had been knocked through the 3/4 inch drywall. Holes in the couches the dogs had dug through the upholstery. Pots and pans piled two feet high in the sink that obviously had been there for weeks if not months.
The guy was a second base or shortstop and last I heard he was back in Mississippi or Arkansas living in a busted down single wide and playing baseball in Japan or South America. Millions in debt with no possibility he would ever pay back a dime on it.
When I was at the house he was bragging about how much he had paid for this, for that, for the other thing. Pizza boxes were all over the house and what was left of the lawn.
The guy was a piece of shit and there was absolutely no chance he was ever going to be anything but a piece of shit.
Never heard of him – and glad he doesn’t owe me money.
