Gov. Abbott Declares Texas a ‘Second Amendment Sanctuary’

Neon Nettle-

Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) has vowed to defend Texans’ gun rights by declaring that he intends to make the entire state of Texas a “Second Amendment sanctuary.”

The move from the Republican governor comes amid mounting fears about the safety of Americans’ constitutional rights as anti-gun Democrats seize power in Washington, D.C.

“I want to make sure that Texas becomes a Second Amendment sanctuary state so that no government official at any level can come and take your gun away from you, despite those people who said, ‘Heck yes, we’re going to take your gun,’” Abbott said during the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s 2021 Policy Orientation.

“We’re gonna say, ‘Heck no, you cannot take people’s guns away in Texas,’” he said in a self-censored reference to Beto O’Rourke’s anti-gun quip during his presidential campaign. read more

“What are you waiting for Go Desantis? And the rest of you republican governors too!”

…not DeWine in OH. He’s carried too much Democrat water as a GOPE, and I think he’s angling for a post in the Harris Administration anyway after he finishes wrecking the OH economy with FakeFlu mandates, so it’s a nonstarter HERE…

  2. While Kentucky is overwhelmingly conservative, we’re stuck with dufus Beshear, who’s like the weird uncle you you avoid at holidays. In fact around here, we call him Uncle Andy. I won’t hold my breath for sanctuary status in the state, though our county has already so declared.

  3. Maybe a good first step Gov would be to stop inviting the 100s of 1,000s of locusts pouring into Texas. Once they reach critical mass, any 2A concerns you have won’t matter.

10,000 people/month move in to the DFW Metroplex alone. Ft Worth, like CO in the 80s, looked immutable. It’s located in Tarrant County, a once SOLID RED county. It went for Biden.

Yeah, I’m sure there was fraud involved. None the less the trend is unmistakable.

  4. As far as I’m concerned, until Abbott recants & rescinds all of his unconstitutional (and unscientific) Covid strong-arming, this is just more BS flavored corrupticrat hot air being expelled out for the gullible!

He lost this Texan at his refusal to call a special legislative session to review his ‘temporary measures’ and discuss the entire scope of the problem and solutions. Abbott will have to sincerely, verifiably, walk the entire Constitutional walk for a very long time before I ever get back in his corner again.

Besides, it certainly flies at right angles to his expressed interest in Red Flag legislation.

Man, I really wish we could clone Gov. Noem.
