Plenary Election 2020: What Happened and What Does it Mean for the Future?

Texas Public Policy Foundation.

2020’s controversial election outcome has largely masked two big events: amidst a massive turnout, down ballot Republicans did quite well nationwide and the beginnings of a fundamental partisan realignment are emerging.

Understanding what this means mechanically in terms of solidified Republican legislative control and demographically in terms of how partisan politics will continue to shift is key to knowing how the political scene will never be the same. WATCH

I know for damn sure they better work to stop the cheating!
That is discussed in the last half of the video.

  1. I think making DC a state is a constitutional amendment. That won’t happen I don’t believe. Puerto Rico will be another story and I don’t know the requirements to make a state.

  2. The Republican Party is our party. We own it, we just don’t act like we do. We can and should organize to push a specific concise agenda and primary those regularly with strong candidates that don’t support the agenda. Starting a new party isn’t really a viable solution. It sounds good but building the infrastructure from scratch takes years if not decades and a lot of money. Wouldn’t it be more satisfying to kick these jerks to the curb and take back the party of Lincoln? And there are some strong spitfire freshmen women in the House that are a good start. Push the old to get with the program or lose their seats. It would make more sense to have the Patriot Party be an organization within the GOP to push this.

  3. JP – At this point the Constitution is whatever the Supreme Court says it is… and they have demostrated that they are compromised and unable to make sound decisions anymore!

DC Statehood is wholly un-Constitutional. But then again, so is West Virginia.
Puerto Rico should have been cut loose half a century ago – we occupied it in 1898 and haven’t left – absolutely despicable.

The ruling junta will do as it pleases to consolidate its tyranny.
The Republicans are too busy licking the fingers (?) of their masters (and collecting their portion of graft) to GAF about America.

Every outrage imaginable will become tangible.

The remnant of America needs to make some concrete plans – shaking off the yoke of tyranny is no laughing matter.
