Senator Scott (R-FL) Files Term-Limits Constitutional Amendment

Floridian Press: Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R), who has received a level of scrutiny over his objection to certifying the election results of the 2020 presidential election, has also had ethics complaints filed against him. The argument is that his objections “lent legitimacy” to the storming of the Capitol that took place on January 6th, 2021. However, the Lone Star state Senator has disregarded the complaints, and he’s since shifted his focus to reintroducing legislation that would ensure a Constitutional amendment that would impose congressional term limits.

Joining him in making the case for term limits if Florida Senator Rick Scott (R), who threw his support behind the legislation that would limit U.S. Senators to two six-year terms and Congressional members to three two-year terms.

  1. The senate is where you go to have a 40 plus year career in government and it needs to end. Go watch Clarence Thomas’s movie from last year, same people unless they’ve died or been installed elsewhere. Enough already.

  2. I’m not sure how I feel about the term limits. What I think I’d rather see is limitations on the ability of influence peddlers to peddle influence. Burn K Street to the ground. And all of the other streets where the lobbyist vermin hang out.

  3. I doubt this has a real chance of either passing or being ratified by the States, But it will be very telling to see who in Congress supports it and who does not.

That will separate the pro politicians who represent themselves from the peoples representative who represent the people and their voters.

Every since Trump first came on the scene, everyone has been being forced to show who and what they really are, a process that continues even after he has left office.

  4. I not only wholeheartedly support term limits for elected officials but also for the judiciary. All of them, federal, state, county, city and don’t forget the bureaucrats.

Unelected, irresponsible parasites that believe because they are unqualified to even be climate scientists or journalists, they’re entitled to a lifetime of what amount to high class welfare. In return for that they think making the middle class miserable is a major part of their job description.

70% of government needs to just go away. I inspect my own food. The only drugs I use are pot and aspirin. If the quality of either of them get too bad, one’s a weed and the other was first produced from a weedy tree, and both grow nearly anywhere. I don’t need an FDA.

I can’t think of a time the DOE ever produced anything but dire predictions and there’s many other departments that have similar missions.

Don’t forget that other DOE. Education should consist of eight grades with emphasis on (descending order) reading, math, history, writing and civics. No religion whatsoever and good luck convincing me that global warming, transgenderism, and all the BS they’re teaching kids aren’t a form of pagan religion that goes under the broad name socialism. I guess I don’t need that DOE either.

I’m thinking of withholding my individual consent of the governed. How to do that? Not paying taxes is the only thing I can think of offhand.

  5. It’s a nice concept but it won’t make them ethical. A term limited politician will just use that time to structure the sale of the seat through endorsement of a successor candidate and then simply move on to a lobbying role with easy access more quickly.
