North Carolina GOP condemns Senator Burr for impeachment vote against Trump

The Hill-

Burr was one of seven Republicans who voted to convict Trump of the charge that he incited the violent insurrection that occurred at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.ย

The Senate acquitted Trump in a 57-43 vote, short of the two-thirds majority needed for conviction.

“North Carolina Republicans sent Senator Burr to the United States Senate to uphold the Constitution and his vote today to convict in a trial that he declared unconstitutional is shocking and disappointing,” North Carolina GOP Chairman Michael Whatley said in a statement hours after the vote.

Burr said in a statement after his vote that the former president bears responsibility for the events that befell the Capitol and argued that the evidence that the House impeachment managers presented was compelling.

The vote was a surprise given that Burr voted twice that the trial was not constitutional. more

  1. Another good example why term limits are a bad idea. Burr had announced he wasn’t running again. So now, it’s all about what’s best for him. He will likely end up on TV as a commentator. Total unaccountabilty in his last term, ala Jeff Flake, Bob Corker etc.

I’m just gonna keep on posting this until everyone gets it….

    Dear Fellow Americans,
If you are still operating under the belief that there is a Two-Party System, would you PLEASE STOP IT!!!!??? You would look less foolish if you declared your fervent belief in the Tooth Fairy… just sayin’.
If you wish to strip-away the power of the reprobates and charlatans currently infesting OUR government, you need to STOP participating in their divisive Political Tribalism that does nothing more than diminish OUR identity as Americans and pits Americans against Americans. STOP identifying as Republican or Democrat… there is NO SUCH THING. What the “Parties” offer WE the People is the illusion of choice while both sides of the aisle work toward a common goal that is repugnant to the COTUS.
Any questions, feel free to ask.
    Thanks,
    YFU

  3. Sen. Burr, obviously, holds his constituency in just as great contempt as he does the Constitution.

A thing is deemed un-Constitutional but he’ll vote FOR it because the “evidence” (of which there was NONE) is compelling? What a puke. What a hypocrite. What a liar.
He should end his Earthly sojourn gibbeted – or (at least) recalled.

  4. Recall him! If NC is serious about getting rid of the Burr in their ass, start the recall. If Californians can get enough sigs to recall Gruesome Newsom, then you can recall this so-called low life Senator. Trump may slip you some money to start the process. Trump is going after his enemies and primary every one of them.

  5. Burr is a typical elitist RINO snob who just happens to be a descendent of Aaron Burr. He plays this to the hilt.

    Tim speaks the truth;
“Sen. Burr, obviously, holds his constituency in just as great contempt as he does the Constitution.”

Burr is so laxadaisical and insincere, he walks around with no socks wearing deck shoes, most of the time. It’s a signal his loyalties don’t include, the “little people”. Pompous elitism defines Burr’s political pedigree.
