You shouldn’t be aloud to be a member of congress if you default of student loans or IRS taxes. Think about how many dems would be disqualified automatically.
A goodly number of students used their loans for living rather than school costs. They do just enough coursework not to get expelled, and let it ride on the premise that they will never have to pay back the loan. In short, they commit fraudd.
There are more than a few cases of ex students refusing to vacate their dorm rooms and just continuing to live on campus as a free apartment. Universities are very uncomfortable with the optics of evictions.
How much debt could she rack up in a 2 year CC loan? Did she go to Harvard Community College?,

Guidance counselors push kids to choose 6 colleges to apply for.
They tell kids to pick 4 dream schools and the state schools as safety schools. They scoff at trade schools.
It makes the high school look better on paper.

My husband graduated college in 1980 with a dual major.
He has said many times no one in a job interview has ever asked his grades.

After 3 years in the Army, (post GI Bill era) I went to school and got an Associates in Business Administration from NVCC. No debt. Never welshed on anything I owed. Done quite well for my self and my family. I have benefited from Work Ethic Privilege.
