4:28 PM PT — One of Hagler’s sons, James, tells TMZ his father was taken to a hospital in New Hampshire earlier on Saturday after experiencing trouble breathing and chest pains at home.
We’re told about four hours later, the family was notified he’d passed away. A cause of death is still unknown at this point … it’s also unclear if Hagler’s death is COVID related. more

Marvin Hagler, along with Thomas Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran were all fun to watch. Boxing was a big time sport back then.

Fun Fact: “According to Sports Illustrated, Hagler was given the nickname of “Marvelous” by a journalist from Lowell, Mass., where the boxer had fought as an amateur. In 1982, miffed that announcers didn’t introduce him by the nickname, he then legally changed his name to Marvelous Marvin Hagler”.

Greatest fight I ever saw was Hagler v Vito Antifermo. A real life Rocky versus Apollo creed type fight
The last great era in boxing was the era of the Hearns, Hagler Leonard Triumvarate. Boxing got flushed down the toilet almost immediately after this trio stopped fighting
The only downer in this era was when Tommy was cheated out of his obvious victory over Sugar Ray. But then again, loved Tommy’s reaction of pure joy at the end of the fight and the fact that he didnt care in the slighest when two refs screwed him. He knew that every other boxing fan on the planet had just witnessed a Sugar Ray ass whipping
The golden age of boxing ended when Don King and HBO colluded to end โfreeโ championship fights with their pay per view scheme. I was a big fan and know all of the fighters growing up. But I couldnโt afford the HBO fees so I lost interest.
And I’ll bet Tommy Hearns laughed his ass off every time Ray went on TV to put a silk hat on his performance

If you die up to a month after a positive Covid test, no matter how many co- morbidities youโre chalked up as a covid death but die after a Covid โvaccine โ and itโs just coincidence.
