19-year-old Timur Faizutdinov — a star player in Russia’s Junior Hockey League — has tragically died after being hit in the head by a puck … his team announced Tuesday.
Faizutdinov was skating for his Dynamo St. Petersburg’s squad in a playoff matchup with Loko Yaroslavl on March 12 when his opponent accidentally flipped a puck at his head.
The frozen rubber caught Faizutdinov up high near his temple … and he immediately crumpled to the ground in pain. more

Played my whole life.
I still have all the injuries and scars but its the closest you can get to feeling like you are flying without a machine under your ass.

Mr. Illustr8r saw a goalie take a puck to his helmet, split it in half, puck shot straight up in the air and took out light fixtures overhead, glass rained down on the ice as the goalie passed out cold and fell face down onto the ice. He had a bad concussion. Lots of war stories playing in the junior A’s. Now, bad knees and back he can’t safely play anymore but misses it terribly.
Back in the 70’s, I was 10 and I skated with my dad, also a doctor as coach. At a tournament in Ontario, a kid took a puck in the head and there was a very large pool of blood on the ice. Dad sprung into action and tended to him near center ice. Fortunately, the boy lived and I had a memory for a lifetime.
I remember watching the Bruins when they didn’t wear helmets.
We played pond hockey.
I had a neighbor’s dad grind the bottom 2 picks of my skates so I could play better.
I was a better player than my brother who was always goalie cuz he couldn’t skate for beans.
I ended up in the hospital once with a concussion.
I was chasing the puck with my neighbor Paul Sheehan and I hit a crack in the ice and flew about 10 feet and passed out when I hit.
So sorry for this boy being killed.

Hockey is racist against chinks and coloreds. Ever see a chink or colored hockey team? No. Because it’s a game of The White Man.
