Multi-billionaire Bill Gates says it is “appropriate” that struggling small businesses are shuttered during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gates, the third richest man in the world, argues that some restaurants and bars must remain closed to “save lives” amid the coronavirus crisis.
“Bars and restaurants—in most of the country—will be closed as we go into this wave, and I think, sadly, that’s appropriate,” Microsoft founder Gates said in a recent interview with CNN’s State of the Union.

You wanna know the two populations that ought to have been decimated by COVID, assuming that it was actually a thing? Grocery clerks and the homeless. Think about it. Grocery clerks deal with dozens (if not hundreds) of people all day every day in close proximity — much more social contact in their daily routines than most of us. They’re not being wiped out. The homeless live in squalid conditions in very close contact with each other, live outdoors with little to no actual shelter from the elements, have abysmal hygiene and personal habits (alcoholism, drug use, rooting around in garbage cans full of disposable masks, etc.). They’re not wearing masks, and they’re not being wiped out, either.
