That wasn’t a very in depth article. I was hoping for a little bit more info, maybe even some video.
Is this about Stacy Abrams sucking spaghetti thru that big gap in her teefers? Nobody want to see that.
A little more “spatghetti” here:

This video explains in more detail:

They got lucky.
Fascination! Thanks for posting.
I discovered Black Holes.
Come to think of it, I brought spaghetti to the west! Talked Marco Polo into bringing some back from China.
What is SPAGHETTIFICATION without MEATBALLIFICATION?
Don Lemon wants to know if the black hole is coming aound earth anytime soon. In case any South Pacific flights might be in danger.
Is there any practical use for this, other than employing astronomers?
Science makes the discovery.
Engineering makes it practical.
Knowledge is never wasted.
izlamo delenda est …
Are you sure it wasn’t the Flying Spaghetti Monster that was observed. Inquiring Pastafarian minds want to know.

“Knowledge is never wasted.”
So every ridiculously stupid study is really justified just it promotes knowledge?
I’m of a different mind and think too much knowledge being put to use is the major problem we face today.
There’s a difference between “knowledge” and “ridiculously stupid study.”
But everybody knows that (or should).

The only spaghetti-fed star that I’ve ever heard of is Sophia Loren.
This is the black hole of the DC uni-party sucking our liberty into its communist maw…
Kinda like the American Experience after meeting the Biden Administration.
“There’s a difference between “knowledge” and “ridiculously stupid study.””
Ridiculously stupid studies produce knowledge. That can’t be denied.
And, your claim is: “knowledge is never wasted”.
My claim is that a good deal of knowledge is simply worthless and of no value, as well that much of it is actually detrimental to us.
@Vietvet — Don’t forget Gina Lollobrigida! (-:
BTW, both Sophia (86) and Gina (93) are still with us.
One doesn’t know if a particular bit of knowledge is useful until it is known.
MMMMMM, spaghetti!
@Uncle Al (at 9:21 am): I could never forget Gina Lollobrigida. When I was a teenager I almost went blind because of her.
😉
Spaghettini or Spaghettoni ?
The article is misleading. Black Holes and their devastation of stars were discovered back in 1964. Einstein said that black holes did not exist and he was proven wrong. Scientists always change their mind about scientific discoveries, they overshadow their errors and never apologize for their errors either. Spaghetti? Just another word to make it look like a big deal.
1964
The first black hole ever discovered was Cygnus X-1, located within the Milky Way in the constellation of Cygnus, the Swan. Astronomers saw the first signs of the black hole in 1964 via gas it sucked away from a closely orbiting blue supergiant star.Feb 19, 2021
Spaghettification? Tanga you, tanga you very muchah
If you’re really interested in space stuff, I highly recommend Lex Fridman, he’s a MIT professor specializing in AI. He has guests on his podcast that I call geniuses. This guy is on top of it: Avi Loeb is an astrophysicist at Harvard.
