Chip Roy to challenge Stefanik for House GOP leadership post

Just The News: Rep. Chip Roy will challenge Rep. Elise Stefanik to serve as the next House Republican Conference Chair, but former President Trump in a Thursday statement criticized Roy and continued to back Stefanik.

“Can’t imagine Republican House Members would go with Chip Roy—he has not done a great job, and will probably be successfully primaried in his own district. I support Elise, by far, over Chip!” Trump said

The leadership slot is vacant following Wednesday’s removal of Rep. Liz Cheney who had previously occupied the post. Fox News reported that Roy said “if we’re gonna have the vote tomorrow, then I’m running.” more

  1. Hmmm, I wonder at what point this would be considered needless meddling? Old Elsie ain’t exactly my first pick.

Personally some one like Majorie Green or Lauren Boebert are much more to my liking.

  2. I honestly cannot think of a single person in congress (that the RINOs would allow to serve) that I would want to lead the bunch of spineless worms who call themselves “Republicans”.

  3. I have a business in Roy’s district. His yard signs were next to Trump’s all over down here. When it came to to stand up for Trump and all of us in his district who supported him, Roy blasted us for the “Capitol Riot” and Trump for inciting it. Let me assure you that son of a bitch will have plenty of opposition in his primary.
