Police Officers Leave NYPD as Anti-Police Sentiment Shatters Morale

Epoch Times-

More than 5,300 New York police officers resigned or retired last year—a sharp increase of 75 percent over the previous year—as morale fell following widespread unrest and calls to defund the police in response to the police-involved death of George Floyd in May 2020. Resigning officers accounted for 15 percent of total officers leaving their posts.

According to the Law Officer website, between May 25 and June 24, 2020, 272 police officers resigned from the New York Police Department (NYPD).

On March 25, the New York City Council voted to pass various police reform bills to abolish the qualified immunity provision for police, opening the way for citizens to sue police over claims of excessive use of force and unreasonable searches and seizures. more

  1. My father in law, retired police/fireman, told me today his good neighbor down the road, a Seattle cop, has sold his home, gave his horses to friends in eastern WA ,and is moving to Florida. He got tired of the abuse, hates Seattle and all it stands for and can’t wait to get as far as possible from it.

  2. I support them. Why should they put their lives on the line when Bill and Andrew would prefer to ignore them?
I do not want people and the others in NY to be in danger, but what can they do if the “powers that be” support the idjits that do not support the laws?
For those of you in NY, come to your senses and vote for those that want to help you. If you do not, then you are on your own.

  3. As Loco said it has only just begun.

Even in the renkydink departments in the far suburbs by me they’re getting tired of bullshit with the millennials with their smart phones being immediately started recording with the verbal abuse every time they pull one of them over.

I asked one of them when the last time they heard “Yes officer, no officer, what seems to be the problem officer?” and they laughed out loud.

  4. You bet it’s part of the plan. Right now we have a military and police forces around the nation that will be torn between basic liberties, the constitution and feeding their families. That can’t be. The overthrow requires that these factions are loyal only to the feds. That necessitates forcing out those that will not comply. You replace them with the indoctrinated. When enough are in place you have a federalized police force that will do the bidding of those in power.

Everywhere we go now, the only people I see masked are teenagers. Nearly all of them are masked. They’re with their grandparents or parents or with their friends. Masked up, ready and eager to follow the orders that will take us to the utopian world their educators have brainwashed them into believing that only they can bring forth.

The playbook was written long ago. It worked then and it’s working now.

  5. As a retiree of the NYPD that still works in the horrendous neighborhoods of East NY, Brownsville, and Bed Stuy (please do not ask why, it’s in my blood unfortunately) I cannot describe what is currently going on in the 5 boros, you wouldn’t believe me. The thing is the time of day it’s going down. Used to be after hours, that’s why working the 1500×2335 tour was great or if you could handle the midnight tour, the first four hrs were just as great, non-stop action. Day tour guys were usually incredibly lazy and “do-nothings”. Well now it’s shootings, stabbings and endless violence 24/7. Even the NY Post can keep up with the pace

  6. Tim, you are headed in the right direction. They already moved tons and tons of the pension money to “green investments” what could go wrong ? I’d prefer the union heads take our money to the casino, shit, they did that back in the early 90’s. Some piece of shit from the transit union, ron realle (spelling may be off) you can actually look that up, it was when that scumbag Phil Caruso was the head of the PBA. I believe they took around 200k, drop in the bucket for our pension system but how many others took however much and did whatever with it is the question
