Throw Back Thursday – A Woman Should Be The First Person to Step Foot on Mars

Diogenes’ Middle Finger:

Newsweek:

“Allison McIntyre, who oversees NASA’s Space Vehicle Mockup Facility in Houston, the home base for astronaut training, said it’s only fair that a woman takes humanity’s first steps on Mars. Twelve humans have set foot on a planetary body beyond Earth. All 12 were men, walking on the Moon during the late 1960s and early 1970s as part of the Apollo missions.

NASA’s first female astronaut to fly in the space shuttle, Sally Ride, notoriously had to explain that she wouldn’t need 100 tampons for a week in space, in 1983. McIntyre says, “We have female astronauts, but we haven’t put a woman on the Moon yet, and I think the first person on Mars should be a woman.”

I have to say, Oh Hell Yeah! I wholeheartedly agree with Ms. McIntyre. And it’s About Damn Time! So in solidarity with my sisters in the struggle against the patriarchy, I have a few ideas myself who should be the first woman on Mars.  In fact, I think we should send a whole crew of females. I would throw my bra into the ring for a chance, but seeing it would probably be a one way trip in all…..uh…. more here

  1. Well, since gender is supposedly a social construct and whatever someone feels like whenever they feel like it, can’t a dude with a normal male hormone load and all of his plumbing intact claim to be a woman to take that first step on Mars? The left is totally cool with that, right, since we’d be playing by their rules??

  2. First let me sat, that the last thing NASA needs is more tokenism. It just makes people wonder if it is worth all the money for a photo op. When the USSR collapsed all those “firsts” became silly. Did anyone think a Russian man could survive in space, but an American couldn’t.
After saying this, I think you could get Sheila Jackson Lee to go if you told her she could burn the flag Armstrong & Aldrin planted.

  3. Why not make he/she/it the first tranny to explore a new world. In the name of so called bs gender inequity it would only be fair. We are so screwed with this kind of thinking, why not the old tried and true sending of the best qualified astronaut regardless of gender or sexual identity, but that wouldn’t be fair in this day and age of all the politically correct mumbo gumbo idiocy so prevalent through out NASA and other govt. agencies. We have gone in my lifetime from having the Right stuff to now having the wrong stuff. I hate every boneheaded idiot idea that the left comes up with in order to make everything equal. We just end up with mediocrity but with good intentions. And like they say the road to Hell is paved with good intentions,

  4. Don’t know why they are getting so excited about who we send to Mars, we’ve given billions to Boeing and they can’t even get off the ground.

  5. If NASA’a gonna virtue signal how about the let the first person to step foot on Mars be a pregnant(lol) trannie Blatino female who’s muslim, handicapped and it must be vaccinated too of course….

  6. Go ahead and be the first, you’ll also be the first to die. I wonder if NASA has made provisions for death on Mars? How do they plan to deal with the radiation exposer on Mars? Heck even airline pilots and crew are exposed to heavy doses of radiation–Mars is full blown radiation. Only way to live on Mars is underground. Stay on earth and live a normal life….or leave I don’t care.
