    Seriously though, he was probably put down because he obviously suffered from hip dysplasia and it got worse. German Shepherds usually are effected by this aliment.

24. 99th Squad Leader, sadly yes, the German Shepherds go all wonky. We had one that Jennifer found on the side of the road. The dog, Boo boo, was there in a ditch when Jennifer went to work… the dog was still there when she came home. So Jennifer carried the almost dead dog to the car and brought her home. The dog shit black plastic bags for weeks. The dog couldn’t walk, and weighed practically nothing.

    Anyway, Boo boo got strong and eventually weighed about 80 pounds. And she was a happy dog after weeks and weeks of proper food and antibiotics. She was also blind. She never could use her back legs properly, again, but she learned how to use her busted hips to move around with alacrity. She was a happy dog for most of the time we had her.

28. Erik, you and your wife are wonderful to care for that sweet pup. I adore German Shepherds – grew up with one.
    Rebel was beautiful and smart. Lost him to old age just when I left for college. Always greatful I had such a great companion.
