Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot blasted her own city’s football team after the organization announced it made a bid for land in Arlington Heights with plans to possibly build a new stadium there.
Lightfoot tweeted a statement, stating “The Bears are locked into a lease at Soldier Field until 2033. In addition, this announcement from the Bears comes in the midst of negotiations for improvements at Soldier Field. This is clearly a negotiating tactic that the Bears have used before.” more here

Been MANY years since I was done there for a game (70’s?). Long before they did the last renovation.
Moved from Arlington Heights in 54 and while it would be a better venue for the Bears I stopped giving a shit when they started with the kneeling.
As suburbs go “Heights” is rather nice… And no drive by shootings or accidental killings on the expressways from stray bullets if they move there.
