Amid a West Coast heat wave that includes triple-digit temperatures, California’s power grid operators have called on residents to not use as much electricity so as to put less strain on the state’s beleaguered grid.
In the past week, the California Independent System Operator (ISO) told residents several times to voluntarily conserve energy, including asking them on social media to stop charging their electric vehicles (EVs) during peak usage times. The operator also warned users to “[avoid] use of large appliances and turning off extra lights.”
“This usually happens in the evening hours when solar generation is going offline and consumers are returning home and switching on air conditioners, lights, and appliances,” wrote the ISO.
And on June 18, the California Flex Alert Twitter page wrote that “now is the perfect time to do a load of laundry,” and urged residents to “remember to use major appliances, charge cars and devices before #FlexAlert begins at 6 p.m. today.” more here
This is why God gave us fossil fuels
Bring back the Chevy Nova, only this time make it electric and put a space in the name:

California: The wave of the past.
The enviro-freaks disallow electricity production via: coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear, tidal bore, hydro installations. Enviro-freaks (currently) allow electricity to be produced by solar and wind.
California, home to many, many enviro-freaks, is suffering electric power grid overload with less than two percent of motor vehicles powered by electricity. Just how many more gigawatts of electrical production will be required to reach fifty percent electric transport vehicles? Seventy? Ninety? All without fossil fuel, nuclear, or hydro power increases.
Now that’s some funny shit right there
Reinstall the hand crank, you will appreciate how much you save
Screw them, I leave all my lights on all night long and open the windows with the AC on while charging my two Tesla Model 3s……
You can’t make this stuff up!
If you need to get somewhere in a hurry just cut the floorboards out and yell YUBA DUBBA DOOOO!!!!
Like everything the “progressive movement” suggests as the way of the future, these assholes are a menace:

The California government seems to be in able hands!
There’s plans in the works to import crops too!
And a few days ago another suit was filed to block another Enbridge Pipeline.
Enbridge is Oil Transmission, Nat gas Transmission AND HYDRO GENERATION.
Cali is determined to light & heat with wax candles.
As Is Justine Turdeau.

Might as well burn some tires while you’re at it. I remember when they had motorcycle races in the desert and they would light a pile of tires on fire so you knew where you were going when they started the race.
Good times. Now the only time you see that is that at a peaceful protest.
^^^Toenex JUNE 24, 2021 AT 3:28 PM…yep thousands of gas guzzling two strokes, every weekend. It was magnificent.
What did California use before candles?
Electricity
Too bad ! You Idiots voted these MFErs into office. Suffer the consequences. No term limits. Cali is now a Stone Age village

Good thing all you tree huggers have bicycles, huh?
Those poor handifats ridin those rascals in Walmaet, how will they cope?
I find it to be truly amazing in this age of high tech that certain areas of America still have an electrical grid that is like it was back in the 1940’s, when everything was first truly connected to the grid. I understand the surge in population & the demand, but the substations & the main lines have never been upgraded in order to keep up. Especially in California, where environmental regulations take the cake over the lives of humans.
Sure glad I had the opportunity to see California’s natural beauty a long time ago. They couldn’t pay me enough to visit that state nowadays or ever again.
Why does California continue to build new homes if we don’t have enough water or power? My state is so Fuc…. I water my lawn and cool my house. If there is really a crisis, do something! Catch water that runs into the ocean, forget about the Delta Smelt, and STOP building
Hey Californians, Generac will hook you up so you can make your own electricity using your $4/gallon gasoline.
Ooops, you’ll be generating as much CO2 as DiCrapio does flying over you.
