Our family was camping on the ocean a few miles north of Crescent City exactly one week before the 1965 earthquake. We would have been wiped out by the tsunami that destroyed the town.

Our tsunami emergency alert scared the crap out of me last night because it was so super quiet in our house. Fortunately that was the extent of anything, though, since we aren’t near that particular zone.
From what I’ve heard, there are no fatalities, though I don’t know about infrastructure.
