Houston Rockets Owner: Democrats ‘Billionaire Tax’ Will Destroy ‘Our Great Capitalism’

Breitbart: Houston Rockets Owner Tilman Fertitta, who also owns the Landry’s restaurant group, warned that America’s “great capitalism” will come to an end if the supply chain issues persist and if the Democrats push their unrealized capital gains tax.

According to Fertitta, the supply chain crisis, along with the inflation and labor shortages created by the pandemic, has wreaked havoc on the American economy to the point that “people just don’t want to work anymore.”

“We have 4,000 openings right now,” he told “Fox News Primetime.” “Between the Golden Nugget, all the restaurants and entertainment venues; people just don’t want to work anymore. I don’t know what happened to that part of capitalism.

“What’s crazy, though, is our high-end businesses are the most successful,” he added. “So people are getting money from somewhere. It’s just a tough time between the labor shortage and the supply shortage. So don’t get mad at your restaurant when it’s extremely expensive, and the waiter has five tables instead of three.” MORE

  2. I’m not a rich man, but I don’t hold a grudge against the wealthy just because they have money.
One thing is for certain, I never worked for a poor man!!
These democRATs want to drag everything and everybody down to their lowest level of Suck because that is the only way these untalented bums can get ahead!

  3. There’s no such thing as “capitalism.” That was the straw man developed by Marx.
What he deemed “capitalism” was simply a man’s right to do as he pleased with his own money. THAT had to be devilized. That had to be demonized. The very prospect that a man was entitled to that which he earned was contrary to the whole subtext of socialism – thus, it had to be made anathema.
He succeeded beyond his wildest expectations. Today, even those who earned money feel guilty about it.

  4. There is an old saying ,”You can shear a sheep many times but you can only skin him once”.

Every single person with wealth, no matter how big or small, should vociferously condemn these types of money grabs. The rich already pay more than their fair share. Ghouls like Wyden and Warren hate the successful and the industrious because it obliterates the narrative that equity can only come from the government.

As we have seen over and over, when dems raise taxes and lie that it will only effect the rich, the very definition of “rich” is manipulated so that the majority of the middle class suffers as well. A tax on billionaires today will be a tax on millionaires tomorrow, and a million bucks is not what it used to be.

  5. Destroying the middle class and small business is their gig. Making more and more laws taking away more freedoms, keeping us busy trying to get fuel to get from point A to point B, finding food and having a roof over our heads.
Somehow more taxes never bother them cuz, they just give themselves a raise to pay for it.
