DesMoinesRegister: Three Johnston school board challengers who opposed the district’s mask mandate won seats on the board in Tuesday’s election, according to preliminary results from the Polk County Auditor’s Office. Seven candidates ran for three seats.

Newcomers Deb Davis, Clint Evans and Derek Tidball unseated incumbents Justin Allen and Jeanie Kerber, the current president and vice president of the board, respectively, with all precincts reporting.
